Plant of the Day
Thursday 5 October 2017
The leaves of Galactites tomentosa ‘Alba’ (boar thistle) make an attractive winter rosette with a strikingly variegation. The species has purple flowers which will self-seed during a hot summer. This white form was discovered in South West Spain producing fragrant green-eyed white flowers in a long succession over the summer. Fertile seeds are few and ideally need to be collected by hand.
