Not sure if this is a question you've gotten yet re: E.A.T. Prologue, sorry if so! If "Mister Dog" is Carlos as he most certainly is, how is it that his soul was able to be put in a beastman body but Banica's was not? They're both normal humans as far as we know. Was this not addressed in the text at all, or did I miss something? (The only explanation I can come up with is that his soul may have been altered by repeated exposure to the golden key, but... does that actually work as an explanation...)

I think this came up when I first infomined--I don’t think there’s any particular explanation for it. One answer that occurs to me is that the quality of the dog beastman’s soul might be similar to that of Carlos’--that is, that he is Carlos’ alternate universe self in that world.

those are explicitly my feelings and like, in canon kh has SO much emotional tension between characters its not hard at all to come up with angsty scenarios that dont involve the fetishization of abuse. but that’s not “spicy” enough i guess so you have to tweet about riku “using” vanitas because hes lonely alright alright okay

Sord and shield probably give off the same vibe bc theyre both in Europe and are the first pokemon games for their respective systems

the second part is an interesting correlation actually come to think of it, my fave gens are all the second on their respective consoles - 2nd, 5th, 7th (technically you could quibble about gameboy vs. gameboy color on 1st/2nd but gbc was functionally mostly the same just with color and gold/silver were gameboy compatible anyway, just optimized for gbc) and all the gens i like the least - 1st*, 3rd, 6th - were all the first games on their systems. and the only one i particularly like that was first on its system was 4th, but it kind of felt like a follow up to gen 3 anyway despite not being on the same system? to me anyway. huh.

not that it necessarily means anything since correlation =/= causation, but that does mean it makes more sense why i’m skeptical of pokemon games on new systems

*don’t get me wrong i loved gen 1 when it came out but it so has not aged well

i think the legendaries look kinda stupid but the sheep won me over

the legendaries absolutely look stupid and i haven’t decided if i think they’re endearingly stupid or not

tbh a big part of the problem i’ve been having is so far really none of the new designs have grabbed me. even wooloo unfortunately - the fanart won me over but my initial reaction was kinda just “oh, a sheep. we already have mareep though.” and it’s not like we’re not allowed to have multiple pokemon based on the same animal, i don’t have a problem with that, but nothing about its design stood out that much - it’s just kind of a sheep? which is fine. a normal type sheep. with gray braid things that i actually kind of hate. it’s cute but doesn’t really do anything interesting with the idea of a sheep, but also i can’t hate it because it’s a sheep and sheep are fantastic

idk. i just...feel bad because i wish i was more excited, but i’m not :(

i think a factor of it is that a lot of people missed the cutscene with her in the final world.

that’s fair! without that scene it does all fall apart for her a bit. it is really odd how missable it is considering how important it is...

i think the thing that really puts that into question is that it's not furigana (that uses hiragana, unless i've just only ever seen it using hiragana), but katakana

nah, hiragana/katakana doesn’t matter. hiragana is typically used but basically furigana is just a “kanji reading-aid” so katakana can be used if the author is writing foreign loan words as the “pronunciation” of the kanji characters. happens very, very frequently in manga and song lyrics to give words double-meaning.
