Alright, probably the last ones for today (unless I get a second wind, kekekeke) Two of my favourite chars of all time <3 Oly Cicada & a young Queen Bastet
In which Tony and Mayua FINALLY get married...
All the guests have arrived! Hatshepsut and Arthur Stiles are thrilled to be there, naturally.
Hattie: “I see the Mitchell’s didn’t bother to get a sitter for their offspring.” Arthuro: “Yes, well, they probably own a mini-van.” Hattie: “True, we are far too stylish for such a thing.”
In which Tony is taken out back...
Terry: “I know all this is a lot to take in, but seriously, Tony--can I call you Tony?”
Tony: “Sure; it is my name.”
Terry: “Trust me, Tony, I know that your fiancée probably said she didn’t mind a court house wedding, but she definitely minds a little... women dream about their wedding day!”
Tony: “Hunt dreams about knives.”
Terry: “Don’t worry, she’s going to be so happy when she sees all of this! I know you and I have never been the best of friends--”
Tony: “Quite the understatement.”
Terry: “I get it, we’re really different people, and you put up this big wall between yourself and everyone else... but I like to think of myself as a bit of a wall climber!”
Tony: “If you attempt to climb me, Mitchell, it will not go well for you.”
Terry: “Oh look, Oly’s almost done setting up the DJ booth!”
Terry: “Hey, Cicada! Looking good over there!”
Oly: “Yeah, you know it T-Bone, almost got this bitch sorted out.”
Terry: “Sounds good, ehehehe.”
Tony: “Any further attempts at puns will be met with violence, Mitchell.”
Terry: “You’re not going to spoil my wedding spirit with idle threats, Tony, not tonight!”
Tony: “I assure you, the threat was not idle.”
Terry: “When Pili told me about you and Mayua, I have to admit I was shocked! Neither of you seem like the marrying sort, exactly... I hope that doesn’t offend you.”
Tony: “I am not offended, your deduction was uncharacteristically astute.”
Terry: “But they say there’s someone for everyone! I’m glad that’s true, and I’m glad we could give you love birds this gift... I mean, yes, there won’t be much of a Christmas party this year, we pretty much soaked up the whole recreation budget, and took personal donations, but it was worth it for two of our own on their special day!”
Tony: “A foolish waste of resources.”
Terry: “You won’t think so when you see how happy your bride is! I wonder if she’ll get choked up...”
Tony: “Why, do you plan on presenting her with a dissected kitten?”
Terry: “Let’s take a stroll down by the river until they’re ready for us!”
Tony: “Are you currently armed?”
Terry: “Granite Falls is so lovely this time of year; Diana and I will definitely be keeping it in mind for when we renew our vows!”
Tony: “How did you score a looker like her anyhow? Did she lose a bet?”
Terry: “Oh haha, funny Mister Corleonesi! I’ll have you know, I’m an excellent partner and father.”
Tony: “Why do I feel as though you are about to lecture me.”
Terry: “Aw, just a bit of friendly advice! I do have experience with this stuff, after all!”
Tony: “I assure you, your ‘advice’ will not be relevant to my marriage.”
Terry: “Have you thought about kids at all? I have four--”
Tony: “There will be no children--”
Terry: “Ehehe, you say that now, but just you wait!”
Tony: “I assure you, no amount of waiting will make a difference.”
Terry: “Oh...OH! I’m so sorry! I didn’t realise... is it you or Mayua? Never mind, I shouldn’t ask, it’s none of my business! There is always adoption though! Or fostering; lot’s of children in need out there, looking for a good home.”
Tony sighed. This already felt like the longest night of his life, and it wasn’t even really started yet.
Tony: “Save your pity, Mitchell, and your advice... I am not above shoving you into this river.”
In which we dance and bet this wedding out...
Ceremony. Dinner. (Terrible) speeches. Cake; after all the usual wedding activities were endured, it was finally time to wind the evening down with some dancing.
For the first time since he’d stepped out of the car, Tony found he was beginning to enjoy himself. It helped, of course, that Mayua was a capable partner.
