Clivesdale, in TGWDLM: Poor Hatchetfield :( Got wiped out... They will forever be in our hearts
Hatchetfield: FUCK YOU, CLIVESDALE!! WE HATE YOU >:( BOOOOOOOO
This is the first of a few fanfics I have in the works for my Imperial Apartment AU. Each primarch is going to get an S/o it might just take me a while to write them all.
Summary: Working as an intern along side Sanguinius you begin to form a one sided rivalry and resentment towards him due to your crappy boss and just because of how perfect he is. How can one late night at the office change your relationship for the better.
(while technically they arn't meeting for the first time just roll with it!!!)

The last credits I needed to final graduate were the 2 credits I would get from my internship at Imperial Co. I had gotten an internship working as an assistant helping the receptionists and around the office. A good chunk of my job was busy work and for the first few weeks it wasn’t too bad. I would help file reports and make coffee when asked. My boss was rather cold but everyone else at the office was nice. That was until HE started working with me. One of the CEO’s sons started working alongside me as an intern and honestly everything just started going down hill from there.
While my boss Jared was never very nice, almost the minute Sanguinius started Jared became completely insufferable. He would tell me wrong information and times so I would show up at the wrong time and look bad or he would say the cruelest things. Not only behind my back but to my face. I felt like I was back in high school being bullied again. There were a good amount of times I had left work in tears at the end of the day. And Sanguinius’s presents didn’t help at all. He was perfect at everything, never slipping up or making a mistake which only led Jared to continue comparing us but how am I supposed to compete with the CEO’s son. When he started here there was a huge kerfuffle about getting him a desk. Like the CEO and all his brothers Sanguinius was huge, probably standing a good 10 feet in height not counting the giant wings on his back. I was literally competing with an ANGEL! I am not usually a competitive person and in any other situation I think he and I could have been friends. But because this is for a class and Jared is the one doing my review every time Sanguinius does something perfect I end up looking like trash. If the review is bad they won’t give me the credits for the class and I won't be able to graduate.
I can’t bring myself not to resent Sanguinius for being here. He is the CEO’s son. It feels almost patronizing that he would be an intern when he could just go straight to the top like his other brothers. I know that there is probably something about earning his place in the company but to be in a low position job for some moral reason and not only because he has to really pisses me off. What is the absolute worst thing though is that he is so nice. He always greets me when he comes into the office. A few weeks ago I forgot to get my usual coffee and when he went on his lunch break he went and got me one. And literally from that day on he has brought me a coffee every single day. I feel like such a bad person everytime he is nice to me because I have diary pages full of angry rants about him. Our desks are right next to each other. It is a really funny sight actually cause his desk is a standing desk that has been raised all the way along with a lifted work space on top. Making my normal desk look like something for a child. Because of his wings he can’t sit in a regular desk chair and so he sits on an extremely large custom built pouf.
This morning I got into the office early cause the team has been working on a really big project recently and with that I have been given more responsibilities. The main one is transcribing notes. Yesterday I sat at my desk with my headphones on typing out notes for the meetings from the last few weeks. I was at work until around 3am last night and when I finally walked home I was only able to get about an hour of sleep before I had to be up and ready for work today. So to say I am tired is an understatement. Jared has said that they need 4 months worth of meetings transcribed by the end of the week and I was only told about this yesterday and today is Thursday.
I placed my headphones on my head and cracked open my energy drink before opening my laptop and beginning transcribing. It is around 6am now so no one is due in the office for another 3 hours. I should be able to get one of the meetings finished before I have to do the rest of my job helping out around the office.
9am
People start pouring into the office just as I am finishing up the first meeting’s transcript.
“One down and only sixteen more to go.” I mumble to myself as I stretch in my chair. Grabbing my now empty energy drink can I get up and take the small walk from my desk past Jared’s office to the breakroom where the main trash can off the office is. Walking back to my desk I have the pleasure of running into Jared as he unlocks his office.
“Already taking a break y/n?” He sneers and shakes his head. “This office does not run on laziness, you are not pretty enough to be slacking off like this, get back to your desk, those transcripts aren't going to write themselves.” He says it with such casualness that I almost missed the jab at my looks. It honestly hurts more being said as a passing comment then it would if he had just called me ugly. He went into his office, closing the door and I took a deep breath.
“I have too much work to do today to let this upset me.” I mumbled to myself as I headed back to my desk. As I turn the corner I see a large mass of feathers sitting at the desk next to me. On my approach he turned towards me with a smile and a cup of coffee in hand. He placed it on my desk as he greeted me.
“Good morning Y/n! How are you doing?” plopping down onto my desk I let out a small sigh.
“Tired… but okay. You?” When I am not filled with loathing. I liked to watch his wings while we talked because there is something so endearing about the way they puff up with excitement whenever I ask him even the smallest questions. I startled him once and like a cat his wings puffed up to almost twice the size. Along with that his face turned a bright shade of red. He made me promise not to ever do that again cause he had broken one of the windows in the office.
“I am doing really well this morning.” he beamed, wings puffing up a little. “I am sorry you are tired. Did you not get a good night’s sleep?” I felt deep shame crawling up my back at the mere idea of telling him I had to stay late at the office cause I wasn’t able to get my work done. So I just gave a small nod and mumbled.
“Ya something like that.” I reached forward for the steaming cup of coffee, taking a small sip of it. I hummed happily, sinking more into my chair. “Mmm thank you Sanguinius.” I smiled softly at him. Usually I would only give a curt thank you but I was so tired that the coffee genuinely felt like a life saver. I could have sworn I saw a small blush creeping onto his face but honestly I am so tired I could be hallucinating. Okay time to get back to work there is so much to do and so little time.
5 pm
Heavy footsteps knocked me out of my focused state. I hadn't noticed that over the course of the day I had not moved from my desk once. My stomach grumbled and my head spun a bit as two large men turned the corner. I hadn’t met them before but everyone knew who they were. Rogal Dorn and Roboute Guilliman, the COO and the CFO, walked towards me. Obviously they were here for Sanguinius but the sheer panic that shot through me could have given me a heart attack if my heart wasn't too tired to beat fast. I didn’t know how to act around then so I just kept my head down. I meant to get back to working on the transcripts but I kept having to rewind the audio because I couldn’t focus. The 3 monstrously huge men stood behind me talking and the quiet rumbling of my stomach. I switched tasks to the large stack of reports that had been left over the course of the day.
Sanguinus stood amongst his brothers talking when Jared came around the corner. Popping my head up I see the most panicked expression on his face as he realized who was in our little cubical area.
“Mr. Dorn! Mr. Gilliman It is a pleasure to see you. What brings you to my little part of the office?” The slight temple in his voice was amusing if my hands had almost not been shaking. They had never done anything to warrant fear in the office Mr. Gilliman was known to be rather kind even but to have all three of them in one room together was so very intimidating.
“We were just informing our brother here that father has called a family meeting and that we will be taking him for the rest of the day.” Mr. Dorn spoke with a formality that left no room for questioning and I could see the twitch in Jared’s left eye that betrayed his anger.
“Of course, I hope you all have a good rest of your evening.” The three men headed out after that right as they were turning the corner. Sanguinius turned back to me with a small smile.
“Goodnight y/n see you tomorrow.” I gave back a weak and tired wave as he turned the corner.
“Good night” Right next to me I could practically feel the suffocation energy of Jared as he took two steps closer to my desk.
“Just because he is gone for the evening does not mean you get to leave early.” he sneered looking over my desk. “Look at this, you haven't even done the reports yet! What have you been doing all day?” I curl in on myself as I try to keep the tears at bay.
“Sir I was working on the Transcr—” He cut me off this a wave of his hand.
“I DON’T employ slackers so you need to get everything on my desk by tomorrow morning or you are fired.” My mouth fell open as I looked up at him in shock.
“But… but sir…” I tried to protest but he already started walking off. “I thought I had until Sunday." I whispered the last part to myself as I slumped into my chair. There is no way I am getting this done if I go home tonight so I guess I am pulling another all night.
Standing up from my desk I stretch my back only mid way through the stretch I start getting light headed. Okay I need some food. I head down the hall spreading past Jared's office hoping to not be seen and make my way to the elevator. I take the small trip down to the first floor and to the small corner store across the street. The old man behind the counter gave me a smile as I walked in. I returned it with a nod heading over to the fridges and grabbing myself two more energy drinks along with a sandwich. I paid for my items and quickly headed back up to my desk. I had an impossible amount of work to do so I cracked open my drink and I got back to work nibbling on my sandwich while I buried myself in the work.
12 am
Around 6 hours had passed by the time I made it about a third of the way through my work for the night. I opened my other energy drink taking a big drink from it when I saw the lights in the hall turn on. I was too tired to pay much attention to it. They were motion-sensored and it was probably just the night security guard doing his rounds. I rubbed my tired eyes trying to get them to focus back onto the screen. I was so focused on staying awake to do more work that I didn’t notice that my name was being called. So I jumped almost completely out of my chair when I felt a large hand land on my shoulder.
“Y/n?” spinning around I look up to see Sanguinius with a confused and worried expression on his face.
“Sanguinius?? Why are you here it is super late?” I asked, shocked that he was back here at all. The last thing I would want is to be here at this time.
“I left my bag here and I could ask you the same thing y/n. Why are you still here?” I gave a tired sigh pointing back at the piles of papers all over my desk and my open laptop that was begging for death just as much as I was.
“Jared moved the date I needed everything done by up to Friday from sunday when it was originally due” I let my head fall onto my desk as I looked up at him. “I am so screwed. If I don’t get this done in time he has threatened to fire me.”
“FIRE YOU” Flabbergasted his wings puff up in anger. The feather reached the ceiling and for the first time I noticed feathers puffing up around his ears. Where else does this guy have feathers?
“Why would he fire you?” I gave an annoyed shrug.
“Idk maybe because he hates me, or the fact that he is the biggest misogynist I have ever met.” I covered my eyes, pulling my hands down my face. Reaching out I take a big sip of my energy drink.
“How many of those have you had today?” Sanguinius asked, picking up the empty can. Turning it over in his hands reading the back.
“I don’t know, maybe like 3 or 4. Why?” I look back down at my computer as I start to work again.
“THREE OF FOUR?!!!!!” He exclaimed. “YOU ARE ONLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE 1 A DAY.”
“Ya ya and I am also supposed to sleep more than 2 hours a night but here we are.” I snapped back. “Sorry” I mumble signing again. “I am just going to keep working. I need to get this done.” Placing my headphones back onto my head I started transcribing again. A large hand reaches over onto my deck taking some of the reports I need to file.
“What are you doing?”
“I am helping. Send over some of the audio recordings so I can help with it.” He smiled down at me.
“You really don’t have to Sanguinius.” I mumble averting my eyes.
“I know but I want to help.”
“Thank you” I give him a small smile and for the next 5 hours we work next to each other in near complete silence.
5 AM
“Finally done.” I yawned, stretching backwards in my chair and in a singular moment I was tipping over headed straight for the flour. In a bang I hit the floor catching Sanguinius’s attention. Looking up at him the exhaustion finally got the best of me and I just started to laugh and laugh and laugh. I was unable to stop laughing and he joined in as well.
“You okay down there?” he laughed out. Slowly getting off the floor I nodded.
“Ya I am all good. Just tired.” Looking down at my watch to check the time. “Fuck.” I mumble this day just keeps getting better.
“What is wrong y/n?” he asked.
“The buses start at 6 and by the time I get home I will just have to come right back here… and I am hungry.” I groan. “No point in heading home now. Guess it is stale bagels in the breakroom for breakfast again.”
“There is a 24 hour breakfast place near my apartment. If you want we could go get some food there and if you wanted you could take a shower at my place.” He offers and his cheeks quickly turn a bright shade of pink. “Only if you want to of course.” I thought about it for a moment and my cheeks started heating up the same as his.
“That would honestly be really great.” I smiled at him. Gathering all our items we headed to the elevator. In this moment I had realized that never before have we been in the elevator together because the moment we got in there I was pressed against the wall with a face full of feathers.
“Um… Sanguinius…” He looked down on me and frantically started to move his wing out of the way apologizing.
“Oh Throne I am so sorry, these wings can be such a hassle.” In a flash I was no longer pressed against the wall but I was being held in the air against his chest. The rapid beating of my heart was so loud in my own ear I bet he could hear it. Or maybe he would have been able too if his heart wasn’t beating just as fast. I could feel it as he held me to his chest. Looking up at his face he was looking away with a bright unmistakable blush on his face.
“I hope this is alright, and that I have not made you uncomfortable.” A small smile crossed my face as I looked up at him. He truly was very beautiful, smooth and tanned skin, A prominent and straight nose with piercing golden eyes. He looked down at me before quickly turning away with a brighter blush. My smile widened as I noticed that the feathers I had seen behind his ears before puffed up again as his ears turned a bright shade of red.
The elevator doors opened and he walked out into the deserted lobby area. He started to head for the door as if on auto pilot seeming to forget I was in his arms.
“Um Sanguinius.” His head tilts a little as he hums in acknowledgement. I chuckle a bit. “While I am exhausted I think I am still able to walk.” His head shoots down towards me finally noticing that I was still held to his chest.
“Oh… oh my gosh I am so sorry.” He fumbled over his words as he placed me gently onto the floor. “Sorry.” he mumbled one last time before we started heading out to the breakfast place he spoke of.
At Denny’s (yes it still exists)
I sat on one of the bar stools in the corner of the restaurant with Sanguinius next to me. His wings were relaxed out behind up being the only people in the Diner. One of them was extended behind me in almost a shielding manner.
“What are you thinking about getting? Cause I am in the mood for pancakes.” I asked him.
“I think I might get their 3 egg plate with pancakes as well. It looks so good.” he hummed.
The waiter had come over to take our orders as we fell into easy conversation. Talking about anything and everything. We talked about our families and where we grew up. The more we talked the more my secret loathing for him dissolves. By the time the food got to us the thought of hating him was a distant memory. And I was filled with intense amounts of shame and guilt over having judged him so quickly. Exhaustion catching up to both of us we ate our meal in peaceful silence. I kept sneaking glances of him even in the dim light of a 24 hour diner he seemed to glow.
After finishing my Pancakes I pushed the plate to the side. Letting out a big yawn I rest my head against the bar looking up at him. Honestly I could pass out right here. My eyes started to close no matter how hard I fought them open. My whole body felt heavy as I dozed off sitting in that small diner. Suddenly a large hand landed on my back. Looking up, Sanguinius stood next to me looking like he was ready to leave. He extended his hand out for me to take with a smile.
“Come on Darling, You can’t sleep here.” I gave a small nod taking his hand as we exited the building. It was a short walk down the street barely 10 minutes but throughout it I never let go of his hand. Didn’t even think about it.
We eventually made it to his apartment and I didn’t even have time to look around the main room much until he led me into his bedroom. He sat me down on his bed taking off my shoes with such care.
“Sleep here for a while, I will wake you up before work.” He whispered softly to me as I lay down looking up at him. He turned towards the door and I am not sure what compelled me or what made me so bold but I reached out and grabbed onto his hand. He turned back to me as I whispered.
“Stay” I wasn’t even awake for long enough to know if he did listen to my silly little request. But he did, and he sat there next to me on the bed gently playing with my hair and holding my hand as I slept.
Maybe the rest of this internship isn't going to be as bad as I had originally thought.
(I hope yall enjoyed that some fic let me know who to write for next I am thinking probably The Lion, Angron or Mortarion)
StudentCouncilPresident!Minji x SportsCaptain!Reader
Minji though you were the most annoying, idiotic, self-centred person to exist. On top of that, your commitment to studying was appalling, and now she had to pay the price. She was told by the principle that she, as the model student and Student Council President, would help you to study for the upcoming tests. So therefore on every Monday and Tuesday after school - Minji was forced to stay behind and tutor you.
She sat in the library on Monday - patiently waiting for you to show your face. It was the first ever session - and you were nowhere to be seen. She started to grow impatient, tapping her fingers on the wooden table and huffing. She was about to pack up and leave when she suddenly saw your figure rush towards her.
“Sorry President, I got a bit side tracked.” you scratched your not - so - itchy nape, awkwardly standing in front of the President.
“That’s fine, just be on time on Tuesday.” stated Minji simply, staring at you expectantly and waiting for you to get ready for the tutoring session.
You pulled out a large textbook, which was the schools prescribed Chemistry textbook. You always struggled with Chemistry - after a while it jut became a blur off complete nonsense. You were failing miserably and if you messed up the next exams - you would loose you title as Captain of the Women’s Volleyball Team. You motioned to the section on The Periodic Table, your expression painted the picture that you had no idea what was going on. Minji sighed, and she started to explain the parts of the topic - speaking slowly as you listened intently, absorbing the information. This continued for another good twenty minutes, then Minji proceeded to quiz you - silent pride swelling within her when you started to understand and succeed in answering the questions correctly. You then decided to tackle your homework, and Minji sat silently - observing you work.
As Minji watched you, she noticed small things about your face. The way your brow creased when you were concentrated, or the lip worry when you didn’t understand a part of the topic. Her eyes then drifted to fully focus on your lips, blocking out everything else. Minji wondered what it would be like if she leaned in for a kiss-
‘What the fuck?’ though Minji, blinking as her mind registered her unfiltered thoughts
Where the hell did that come from? Minji felt herself blush a bit, she was supposed to hate you (Minji’s friends on the Student Council constantly teased her about her little vendetta against you, she was never amused).
“Minji?” you asked, watching the dazed girl with a perplexed expression
“Uh…yes?”
“I’ve finished - can you take a look?” your face grew into a smile
Minji felt herself grow even more flustered when two small, but noticeable, dimples popped up at the corners of your mouth. Her heart literally felt like it was going into cardiac arrest. She almost snatched the paper away from you - jolting even harder when her hands collided with yours.
She busied herself with checking your answers, her eyes chained to the paper like her life depended on it. Why was your handwriting so damn messy? She couldn’t make out if that squiggle was a two or a three.
After the arduous task of deciphering your chicken scratch handwriting, she slid the paper back to you, avoiding contact at all costs. Not paying her strange behaviour any mind, your eyes landed on the large red ‘100%’ at the top of the paper.
“Holy shit Minji! I did it!” you jumped out of your seat, visibly ecstatic.
“Shut up (Y/N)! Too loud! And don’t swear!” Minji hissed, reprimanding your for your rash decision.
You rubbed your head sheepishly - sinking back into to chair. The apologetic look on your face melted into a pleasant smile.
“You called me by my first name.”
“Huh?”
“You usually just call me (L/N) or Captain. I began to think you didn’t know my actual name.” you chuckled.
Minji felt her face flush, her brow furrowing in defiance.
“I’m just teasing.” you grinned, but then glanced at the clock. Your expression turned panicked - and you leapt up for the second time.
“I’m so sorry, I forgot I have to pick up shopping for my family!” You started to gather your things in a hurry. You revealed that it was your turn to do the chores, and you were already on thin ice because of your failing Chemistry grade.
Minji couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed - but her disappointment morphed into shock when you pulled out a black marker and grasped her wrist.
Biting the cap off - you began to write a number on her palm.
“This is my number - don’t hesitate to drop a ‘Hi!’”
You then sped off, leaving Minji with a confused heart and your number tattooed on her hand.
She definitely didn’t hate you anymore.
