Oklahoma Fried Onion Burgers are a delicious regional specialty known for their crispy onion crust. This recipe combines juicy beef patties with thinly sliced, griddled onions and classic burger toppings for a mouthwatering experience.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 large onion, thinly sliced. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices American cheese. 4 tablespoons mayonnaise. 4 tablespoons ketchup. 4 lettuce leaves. 4 tomato slices. Pickles optional.
Instructions: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into thin patties. Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil. Place a portion of sliced onions on the griddle in a rough patty shape, slightly larger than the burger patty. Place a burger patty on top of the onions and press down firmly with a spatula to fuse the onions with the patty. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the onions begin to crisp and the burger patty is browned on the bottom. Flip the burger and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the patty is cooked to your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on top of each patty and let it melt. Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle until lightly browned. Assemble the burgers: Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom bun, add lettuce and tomato slices, place the cheesy onion burger patty on top, and add pickles if desired. Top with the other half of the bun, and serve hot.

Oklahoma Onion Burgers are a classic favorite in the area, and their juicy beef patties are flavored with onions. People who want to taste the delicious flavors of Oklahoma should try these burgers!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 large onion, finely chopped. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 slices American cheese. 4 hamburger buns. Mustard and ketchup for topping. Sliced pickles and lettuce for garnish.
Instructions: Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready. Separate the ground beef into 4 equal parts and form them into thin patties that are about 1/4-inch thick. On both sides of each patty, sprinkle salt and pepper. Put some chopped onions on one side of each patty and press them into the meat. Carefully fold the patty in half, making sure the onions stay inside. This makes stuffed patties. Put the stuffed patties on the grill or griddle and cook for three to four minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them. Cover and add a slice of American cheese to top of each patty in the last minute of cooking. This will melt the cheese. Put the hamburger buns on a grill or griddle and toast them until they get a little brown. Spread mustard and ketchup on the bottoms of the toasted buns before putting the burgers together. Cover the buns with the cheesy onion patties. Add sliced pickles and lettuce on top of the patties. Add the tops of the buns last, and serve your tasty Oklahoma Onion Burgers hot.
