Online Rage

If the world is standing in your way

And it seems that all they want

Is for you to pay

For the past wrongs of strangers,

To delete the angry font

Which screams for recognition

Inside their circuitry

They do this to prevent catastrophe

And to withhold the dangers

Of bottling anger

How do you prepare for the ensuing blows?

Nothing can save you short of precognition

Even then you are a fish in the dark

With blind eyes gaping wide

nothing consoles except woes

After you've been beaten down by unknown foes

Bosom overflowing with grief

You turn to seek relief

And find it online

As your shadow fills the door

You step forward to fill it more

And block the worlds way

It seems that all you want

is for them to pay

to appease your online rage

One of the usual things about Joss writing strong female characters came up on my dashboard. Felt the need to post this. It is indeed the most rage-inducing, but slightly hilarious in a sad way, articles I have ever read.

I find much of Joss Whedon’s work to be heavily influenced by pornography, and pornographic humour. While I would argue that there are some aspects of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer that are feminist and progressive, there is much that isn’t and I find it highly problematic that there are many very woman-hating messages contained within a show that purports itself as feminism. But Firefly takes misogyny to a new level of terrifying. I am really, really worried that women can call the man who made this show a feminist. 

It's funny in a very, very tearful way because the author is serious. Pretty sure they're not just putting up a hypothetical opinion to incite hate.
