Summary: Alastor figures out who the mysterious thief was
You
Lilly huffed as she walked back into her castle.
The audacity of that man! Accusing her of stealing?!
How self absorbed does someone have to be to just ASSUME the princess of the land was stealing?
Unless maybe he didnt... know she was the princess....
Lilly sighed as she collapsed onto her bed in a huff, the dirt on her skirts transferring to her silky sheets.
There was a knock on the door.
"Princess? It's time to get ready!"
"Come in!" Lilly answered as she sat up on her bed.
The servant walked in, a dress folded in her arms, a pair of shoes and a golden butterfly crown laying on top.
.......
"Hola, King Alastor, we are very pleased to have you here!" Lilly's mother, the queen, spoke out.
Alastor bowed. "Very lovely to meet you, your Highnesses. I look foreward to meeting your lovely daughter," he stated, genuinely.
Alastor was very awkward when it came to romance... he assumed there was something wrong with himself...
With any luck, this would be different.
"Yes. We assume so. Last we saw you was at her christening," Lilly's father spoke out, remembering how young Alastor had looked back then.
"Yes. I must admit, when my father had told me I was betrothed to a baby, I wasn't very compliant," Alastor joked.
"Well, we hope she'll appeal, your majesty," The queen spoke out.
One of the servants walked to whisper into her ear.
"Ah wonderful!" She exclaimed as she stood up. "Without further ado, our daughter, Lillian," she spoke.
Lilly sighed as she walked down the stairs strolling gently up to her parent's thrones.
Alastor raised an eyebrow as his eyes trailed up the butterfly-like dress until they landed on her face.
His eyes narrowed.
"You!" Lilly exclaimed, her yellow tinted brown eyes widening.
"Well this IS entertaining," Alastor muttered.
"Do you know one another?" Her mother asked, her eyebrow raised.
"I'm afraid so. I caught your daughter attempting to steal from me," alastor stated.
"STEAL?! I did nothing of the sort!" Lilly exclaimed angrily.
"Lillian," her mother scolded before turning to the King in front of her. "I'm sure there's a misunderstanding. Come, we'll sort this out over dinner," she stated.
...........
Silence.
It was loud.
Lilly and Alastor glared at one another from across the table, alastor with an amused smirk on his lips.
"Do you ever stop smiling?" Lilly asked.
Her mother sent a glare her way.
"I'm afraid you're never fully dressed without a smile, little princess," Alastor mocked as he took a sip of his wine.
Lilly sighed harshly.
"So! I believe the wedding will take place in a week?" Her mother asked.
"Ah, yes, Deborah, may I call you Deborah?" Alastor asked as he set down his goblet. "As long as it's alright with the little thief," Alastor teased.
"I am NOT a thief," Lilly grumbled as she took a sip of her grape juice.
"My coat would say otherwise," he smirked.
"What exactly do you gain from this?" Lilly asked.
"From what? Your humiliation?" Alastor teased again.
"No! From.... the marriage," Lilly spoke up.
"Well... company... someone to speak to.. a way to make my own kingdom stronger... possibly an heir," he explained, a small blush tinting his face at the last part.
Lilly glanced to her mother who was busy eating.
Alastor quirked an eyebrow as he caught the princess clutching her stomach.
"If that's alright with you, that is," Alastor finished.
Silence again.
As dinner ended, Lilly's parents thought it best if their daughter and her betrothed got to know one another to clear things up.
"Goodnight mother," Lilly stated as she curtseyed.
"Goodnight, my darling. Don't forget to write your brother tonight," Deborah stated with a warm smile, holding her arms out for a hug.
Lilly nodded before turning to her father, hugging him tightly.
"Gnight Dad," Lilly muttered before she kissed her father's cheek.
"Goodnight, my little butterfly," he smiled in response.
As her parents left, Lilly turned to Alastor.
"Shall we then, my liege?" Lilly asked with a vold glare.
