Alix never cared for romance. It was everywhere, why should she care if a few people were making out, holding hands or gushing about their partner? She had long known that there was something off with her, she never engaged with the idea of romance, often avoiding the topic when it came up, the idea of being romantically involved with someone made her skin crawl.
So, she didn't do anything when Marinette brought her along up to her room to try and get a date with Adrien. Alix just rolled her eyes, not really caring for such a thing but nodded along and maybe threw out an idea of two if asked. It grew annoying as weeks turned to months, she wanted to be by herself and hang out with Kim, Nathaniel and Max. She didn't want to be around Marinette and her scheming.
"Alix!" Marinette called to her.
She repressed the urge to groan, as Nathaniel stopped and looked over at Marinette, giving a small wave.
"Yeah?" Alix turned to the other girl.
Marinette fidgeted, "are you avaliable after school? I was wondering if you and the other girls could help-"
"I'm busy," Alix said.
"Bu...Bus...y?" Marinette tilted her head, confused.
"Yeah, I'm helping Nathaniel with his comic," the lie was seemless, and Nathaniel nodded, not sparing a second thought.
"O-oh..." Marinette looked off to the side, biting her lip. "Are you sure you don't have time? It'll only take a few mintues!"
Alix huffed, "I'm sure."
Marinette's shoulders fell and she nodded, muttering a half-assed goodbye before hurrying off to the girls.
Alix groaned, turning on her heel and walking away, Nathaniel joined her. He thankfully started talking about other things and not pressuring Alix to tell him what that was about.
----
Maybe Juleka was just broken. She didn't want friends, didn't need them, in fact she loathed the mere idea of having friends. The maintence and mental exhaustion she faced when she was younger had made her more withdrawn forcing everything down and not seeking out her classmates for a closer connection. While in Mrs. Bustier's class, Juleka didn't mind talking to Rose, she was good company in school but they were just classmates.
Things got worse as the years passed, Juleka began to miss school, forcing herself to play a role she wasn't fit for. Marinette dragged her around to play pretend and ask her for advice and leaning on her emotionally, constantly refering to Juleka as her friend. It made Juleka's skin crawl all over, something she couldn't get rid of, so she skipped school.
"You don't have to be friends with them," Luka said, tunning his guitar.
Juleka simply hummed, not feeling like talking. She could feel her brother's eyes against her back before he sighed, the creeking of the floor boards followed by the dip in her bed.
"Hey," she peeked over her shoulder at him, "you should put yourself first sometimes."
He smiled, and Juleka felt just a little better.
----
"A... Date?" Alix asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah!" Alya smiled.
The other girls were behind her, nodding along and a sparkle in their eyes. Alix frowned, she didn't mind the idea of a date, but something told her that this was more to try and get her with someone.
"Not interested," she flatly said.
Bewilderment and confusion quickly struck the girls, as they all looked at each other.
"C'mon Alix," Marinette forced a smile, grabbing her shoulders and giving them a squeeze. "It's just a quick date, nothing too serious! Just give it a try, you don't know, you might light it."
Alix pushed Marinette's hands off of her, glaring at the other girl.
"I'm. Not. Interested." Alix stated firmly.
"Alix, this guy we found is really-"
"What part of 'not interested,' aren't you getting?" Alix snapped at Mylene. " I don't date. I don't do romance. I don't do any of that stuff! I don't even know this guy and your just setting me up with him? For what? So I'm "not lonely?" Whatever happened to what I wanted?"
Her eyes tore through each girl in the group. Marinette backed away, looking confused and disgusted. Most of them looked away with guilt, and the rest looked determined.
"Well," Rose fiddled with the edge of her skirt, "maybe you haven't found the right person yet?"
Alix scoffed.
"You're all stupid," she turned around leaving the group. "Don't bother trying to contact me! We're not friends anymore."
She didn't need to have romance in her life, Alix was okay with her friends and being around classmates that weren't breathing down her neck. Sure, Kim could be obnoxious and stupid at times, but he was far more honest than Marinette. Max as stiff with social interactions but he knew what to say and when to say it, never forcing his opinon down others throats. Nathaniel and Alix had always been close, she considered him one of her best friends.
So why? Why did they only see how she didn't have a partner? That she could never be happy for fulfilled with just her friends?
Alix loved them all dearly, she had hidden in the burrow to try and protect them from anything bad that could happen. Marc had held out his hand, promising that he and the others would never leave her.
Ladybug could always find another Bunny Holder. Alix just wanted her friends.
----
Nathaniel clutched the toliet bowl, dry heaving as Kim patted his back. It was natural that they would talk about such things, they were all adults and it was natural. Yet, Nathaniel couldn't take it, the others talked and talked. Dirty secrets that he never wanted to know, his skin was burning and drenched in sweat as he tried to keep dinner down.
Kim patted his back, saying nothing.
Once he gathered himself, Nathinel stood up on shaky legs.
"Thanks, Kim."
"No problem, dude. You plan on staying around?"
Nathinel shook his head, "I'll call Marc once I gather my things."
Kim nodded, helping keep Nathaniel stable as they made their way to the living room. It seemed the group went back to talking, or rather one person was talking.
"He's such a baby," Marinette's voice cut through Nathaniel, "we're all adults here, and he can't handle a few mentions of sex without getting all sick?"
Kim blocked Nathaniel from going forward, giving the other man a smile before walking into the living room.
"Kim, where's Nath?" Max sounded nervous, deeply uncomfortable from his voice.
"He's been feeling under the weather, didn't want to miss the reunion so he pushed through. He's calling Marc to come pick him up, just came by to gather his stuff for him."
Nathaniel leaned against the wall, hugging himself.
He heard Marinette's annoyed sigh, "he's probably just using that as an excuse to get out. It's clear he's not acting normal, talking about sex is just a part of life and what makes us human!"
Nathaniel covered his mouth, surpressing a gag.
"Oh~ do you think he's denying Marc sex? That must be sad."
Nathainel's eyes burned, his stomach twisted.
'She's just drunk.' His mind tried to justify, knowing that Marinette didn't drink.
"Stop speculating on his sex life," Kim snapped, "what Nath and Marc do, or don't do, doesn't matter. If he doesn't want to share then that's fine."
"It's not natural though," Marinette sneered.
Nathaniel moved toward the front door, he heard enough.
----
"Did we do something wrong?" Zoe asked, fear in her eyes.
"No," Juleka said, "I'm just... Exhausted with everything going on... So, I just need some space."
"Are you sure?" Marinette pushed forward, making Juleka step back. "We're your friends, we can help in anyway we can. Whatever your dealing with we can deal with it together!"
Marinette reached for Juleka's hand, but she pulled back.
"I want to be alone for a few days," Juleka reitterated.
Marinette's face fell, but she nodded.
Juleka was faced with pestering texts and 'woe-is-me's' from Marinette, trying to get Juleka to tell her what was wrong. Saying over and over that they were friends, that Juleka could trust her. She huffed silencing her phone, only for it to buzz. The caller ID read Marinette, Juleka declined the call, only for it to come up over and over again.
Sitting up from her bed, Juleka texted Marinette one final text, blocking her number and finally breathing a sigh of relief.
Hours passed and Juleka had thrown her phone across the room, watching as the screen would turn on and off, the cosntant buzzing being the only noise. Luka opened the door, seeing his sister curled into a ball and glaring at the phone.
He didn't pick it up, sitting on the bed and watching it with his sister.
"You don't want to be friends with us, do you?" Rose and Juleka always walked to school in the morning.
"Sorry," Juleka whispered.
"Don't be," Rose gave a small laugh. "I've learned a lot since Alix left the group. I don't mind us not being friends if it makes you comfortable."
Juleka played with a loose tread on her gloves. "You're a good classmate, Rose."
She gave Juleka a smile, switching the topic to what they were going to learn.
----
"HE WAS YOUR FATHER! HOW CAN YOU FEEL NOTHING FOR HIM!?" Marinette shouted, dragging attention to her and Adrien.
"I don't see him as my father," Adrien reiterated. "Sure, he conceived me, but there's no feelings of family that I have for him"
Maybe it was distance when he was younger, or how Gabriel always seemed to be his manager. Adrien didn't mind, he actually prefered thinking of Gabriel as his manager than his father.
He was apathetic towards the idea of family. Sure, Felix was his cousin, and Natalie acted as a mother, but Adrien didn't see it that way. Felix was a friend more than his cousin and Natalie was more of his caretaker than a mother.
The idea of thinking of the two as family made Adrien disgusted. They weren't hos family, he didn't have a family, and that was okay. So why? Why was Marinette so worked up over his feelings?
"No," she began to pace, "no. That's wrong! You have to see Gabriel as your father, he was always there for you! There's no reason for you to think otherwise!"
Luka had mentioned it. Alix cut ties when Marinette implied that dating would fix her. She pushed Juleka to a breaking point.
She had always been like this.
What would she do if she found out Adrien was indifferent to sex? How he didn't want to start a family and have kids of his own because he knew that he'd never see them as his kids?
"I need some time to think about our relationship." Adrien said.
Would she force herself onto him? Marinette had always been touchy, grabbing Adrien and pushing herself flush with his body. He had simply hummed when she kissed him, never kissing back and instead trying not to push her away.
The more he thought about it, the more Adrien felt disgusted with Marinette.
He needed to talk to someone.
----
Marinette sobbed as Juleka glared at the floor, there was no doubt that she'd be expelled from school. Her knuckles were bruised and bloodied, her nose hurt and her eyes watered.
Marinette had a bruise forming on her forehead, and had Juleka's blood under her nails.
She didn't really care that she attacked Marinette. It was a blink of Juleka was suddenly pulled off by Kim and Alix, Marinette looked at her with disgust.
But, she quickly turned around and sobbed to the teachers. Juleka didn't care, she had grown tired of Marinette and her constant pushing. Was it so hard to leave her alone for a few days? Weeks maybe? Or never again.
"Girls," Damocles gestured for them both into the principle's office.
Anarka glared at Marinette, arms crossed and tapping her foot impatiently. Her parents looked worried and deeply conflicted as they looked at Marinette.
"Miss Juleka, your mother has decided to withdraw you from the school," Damocles said.
Juleka nodded, she understood why, her mother had heard from her about the stress of school, and most importantly the stress Marinette was causing her.
"Miss Dupain-Cheng, you will be suspended for two weeks."
Juleka's eyes widened.
"Wh-WHAT!?" Marinette stood up suddenly. "I-I didn't do anything wrong! Juleka attacked me!"
Damocles raised a hand, and Marinette clamped her mouth shut, sitting down and looking between the principle and her parents.
"Ms. Couffaine showed me the texts that you sent her daughter, and your classmates have told me that you've been harrassing Miss Juleka when she asked to leave her alone multiple times."
"But- She-She-"
"Furthermore, other students within the school have commented that you were relentless in your harrassing of Miss Juleka before she attacked you. I had plans on expelling Miss Juleka, but upon learning more of your behaviours towards her, I had also planned on expelling you."
Marinette gawked.
"But, since Ms. Couffaine is withdrawing her daughter from school, I see no reason to expel you. Use your suspension to think about what you've done."
Juleka couldn't help the smile on her face as she walked out of the school for good.
----
Luka looked down at the earrings, glancing at Marinette as Su-Han, Vesperia, Rena Rouge, & Ryuko held her down.
Three years of planning, putting a stop to Marinette and her tyranny both as a civilian and Ladybug.
"You can't do this!" She shouted.
"You've abused your power, and you've abused your allies both as a civilian and Guardian," Su-Han growled. "Protecting yourself from consequences and blaming your actions on others? You, Marinette Dupain-Cheng are a pathetic excuse for a guardian."
They had learned everything, the lie about Gabriel, how she held Adrien in a relationship, the blaming of everyone around her.
"Viperion, would you hold onto the Miraculous' until I can find a suitabke guardian?" Sun-Han asked, holding the box out.
"Of course," Luka nodded carefully taking it away.
"Girls."
"Yes, Sir!"
"Let's bring Ms. Dupain-Cheng to the police."
Luka hid the box in his room, but let Juleka in the know of what happened, everyone that Marinette had given a Miraculous had been informed. Chat Noir wanted no part in a confrontation with Ladybug, but had given them all the information they needed.
The Kwamis had informed Bunnyx of what happened, and Marc had been the one to convince Alix to rejoin them.
Each Kwami was redistributed between the group and new people. Sass had insisted on staying with Luka, so he gave the snake to Juleka. Alix gave up her position as Bunnyx, she missed her friends and didn't want to be alone any longer.
Felix and Kagami stayed as Argos and Ryuko, fighting as vigilents in both London and Japan.
Alya, Nino, Rose & Mylene all stepped down. They did give in-put on who they wanted their successors to be, but weren't picky with who took on their mantels.
Everyone else was either still on the fence or set in their decisons. Su-Han scouered Paris to try and find a new Guardian, but no one seemed sutiable.
At first, Luka was willing to take on Guardianship, Viperion wasn't needed that much, and he seemed like the best option. Chat Noir gave a sad smile, but promised to visit when he could. Luka smiled, thanking him and promising to call to him when he could.
"Chloe?" Luka blinked a few times at Su-Han, the man nodded
"I understand that she had a difficult upbringing, but from what I've observed she is the perfect candidate. Self-diciplined, knows how to handle multiple people and tasks all at once. Her mental fortetuded is strong, and she knows when to make tough decisons. Naturally, she won't be a holder, but I don't think she minds."
Luka nodded, breathing some relief as he handed the Kwami's box over to him.
It was finally over
----
Adrien jumped from roof to roof, letting Paris' night life bring a joy he hadn't felt in a long time. It had been relatively peaceful since Chrysalis was taken down and Lad- Marinette was revoked of her Miraculous and guardianship.
She had fled, taking Chloe down and stealing the butterfly miraculous. While Paris was being attacked, they were more efficiant than before.
Juleka came out from the burrow more often, giving information on changed timelines, Chloe entrusted the Miraculous Box to Su-Han until they fixed this. Vesperia acted as Chole's bodyguard for the time being, the two sisters rekindling their connection.
Adrien had started to take his relationship with Luka slowly, he's never been happier, even if he was battling his evil ex-girlfriend. The thought made him laugh.
"You seem giddy," Adrien skidded to a halt and turned, grinning at Vortex. She stepped out of her burrow, and joined Adrien in jumping from the rooftops.
They finally stopped on the top of Sabin and Tom's bakery, Marinette's old balcony.
"How have things been going with you and ?" Juleka asked leaning on the railing.
"Slow and steady," Adrien smiled blushing at the thought of his boyfriend. He cleared his throat and threw Juleka a look.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She nervously laughed.
"Well," Adrien dragged it out, "I heard from a busy bee that you've been sneaking a few visits to our dear guardian?"
Juleka's face flushed as she shoved Adrien.
"C'mon! I'm only making sure that Mariposa doesn't get her," Juleka gave a nervous laugh.
"Fine, Fine," Adrien raised his hands in defense.
"Nathaniel and Marc are engaged," Adrien said looking at the Effiel tower.
"Really? I'll have to see what day it is so I can crash!" Juleka smiled and Adrien laughed.
They swapped stories of what's been happening, and theories on Marinette's whereabouts. Naturally, they found a few threads, but decided to end it there for now.
Silence laid thick between the two. Years of being tormented by Marinette, being close to her as both heros and civilians. Her lies affected Parisians all around when it was revealed, her time as Ladybug wasn't, but she had been branded as an accomplice to Hawkmoth. Her reputation as a civilian and hero were ruined for good.
"Do you think she'll ever learn?" Juleka asked.
Adrien thought about it.
He had endurded years of her ignorance and lies. Forcing herself onto him, thinking she could fix something that was never broken. He had found out her lies first hand, but Adrien could never bring himself to hate her.
"I don't know," he answered honestly, "if she somehow did. I don't want her back in my life, not after what she put me through."
Juleka nodded.
deciding to bid farewell after a few mintues, promising updates, before disappearing.
Adrien jumped back to Luka's apartment, climbing through the window after detransforming and cuddling into bed with his boyfriend.
He smiled as Luka's fingers combed through his hair.

Can the life series lore enjoyers talk more about the in universe reasons for joel smallishbeans wearing the life series merch while in the arena
It's quite literally advertising. When you think about it it's ridiculously dystopian that he's wearing the merch for the VERY SAME death game he's participating in.
irl a fan made the skin for him. in universe the watchers threw merch at him and said "put this on"
