I've been thinking about the Deltarune in universe player feeling super betrayed when they learn that Kris is working with the knight in some way, like, I could imagine the player not understanding why Kris would stop us from getting the code, specially if we believe that finding the code would fix all of our problems, getting in that shelter would mean that they could fix everything, find a way to get out of Kris and find their own vessel so they could finally split themselves and go each their own separate ways, but when we finally learn that Kris works for the knight, the player would be so betrayed and stressed about this, but I imagine with the way this universe goes out of it's way to constantly remind us that we're stealing Kris body and taking away their free will, they're kind of forced in a situation where they can't lash out at anyone, it couldn't get angry at Kris even if it wanted to, because they're also a bad guy for puppeting Kris around, since Kris is also stressed about this situation, so the player clinged onto Kris because they're both in a situation where neither side wanted to be in this situation, so it clinged onto Kris as a desperate need to relate to anyone, and when Kris basically cuts that connection I could imagine the player going into a panic, but being forced to bottle it up because they're in a situation where it's literally impossible for them to be justified to be like that
this can also become substentially worse when you remember that Kris is also the only direct line of communication it has and thus even if it's not the intention of Kris they further create a feeling of loliness within the soul making it's isolation, lack of self and helpleness more dangerous to itself and others.
The soul isnt allowed to enjoy the adventure its stuck in because it takes Kris automany.
It cant be angry because Kris didnt want this situation either
it cant be sad this is all happening because it had willingly come along thinking that it could acquire a body for itself.
it cant be mad at gaster because he isnt around for it to actually call him out
it cant try to speak to anyone else because Kris starts to act on their own and they actively can try to stop themselves from saying something the soul wants them to say or twist commands to their favor
it cant rely on any familiar faces because none of them knew of its existance back in undertale or here in deltarune
it cant get attached emotionally to anyone because it would mean having to deal with the fact no one can hear it, see it or understand it and the ones that do are afraid of it even if it never done anything to them.
its confused, lost, isolated, desperate and suffering and there is nothing it can do than to keep going foward because otherwise this world ends and it has no other purpose
it treat itself as the worse to possibly cope and try to detatch itself so its doesnt feel hurt by anything, especially weird route and what it does to Noelle
its seen by the inhabatants of this world as possibly nothing more than an ill omen, a narrative device, just something to help with the prophecy before it leaves or a being above them like a god when it does not have that power.
it wants to matter and feel like its own being so badly but it has no choice, place or friends to help it.
Kris cant live without it as their soul
But with Kris the soul is nothing but miserable in the long run
