Luffys actual ambitions

Chapter 1,049 came out recently and everyone is focusing on the supposed end to the fight between Kaido and Luffy. But people aren't paying attention to what Luffy says to Kaido before he hands him that fade.

Now many people think this dialogue refers to Otama and the other citizens of Wano who are currently starving. But I think these words carry more relevance.

I think this dialogue is the one that's been hinted at for the past 10 years. The words Luffy and Roger said to Sabo, Ace, Oden, and Whitebeard.

Every arc ends with a couple scenes of the crew having a banquet with the inha inhabitants of the island they jusy liberated. Now how would bieng Pirate King help Luffy feed his friends? Idk maybe he thinks treasure can help pay for meals instead of having to dine and dash like he did with his brothers.

In chapter 1 he promises Makino that he'd pay his tab with his pirate treasure and Makino says she and the village would celebrate his efforts which is exaclty how every arc ends.

It's kindve like how when Who's Who talked about Nika it was revealed later that Luffy is Nika idk maybe its another situation like that
