Amenonuhoko (天沼矛 or 天之瓊矛 or 天瓊戈 "heavenly jewelled spear"?) is the name given to the spear inJapanese mythology used to raise the primordial land-mass, Onogoro-shima, from the sea. It is often represented as a naginata.[1]

According to the Kojiki, Shinto's genesis gods Izanagi and Izanami were responsible for creating the first land. To help them do this, they were given a spear decorated with jewels, named Ame-no (heavenly) nu-hoko (jewelled spear), by older heavenly gods.[2] The two deities then went to the bridge between heaven and earth, Ame-no-ukihashi ("floating bridge of heaven"), and churned the sea below with the naginata. When drops of salty water fell from the tip, they formed into the first island, Onogoro-shima. Izanagi and Izanami then descended from the bridge of heaven and made their home on the island.

Many facts about the sword are unknown.

New Verse Information: Beyond Verse

After touching a very ancient and extremely sensitive artifact, Zatanna found herself barreling through time, unable to control anything around her. She was finally spit out in a city she barely recognized by anything other than the tall buildings and familiar street signs. Gotham... but this wasn't the Gotham ths remembered. No. This was a completely different place.

With some investiagting, she found her belived Shadow Crest to be an abandoned mansion, a crack house actually, no longer shrouded in the magical dimension she had built around it. Fearful of what was going on, Zatanan fled to the one place she knew she could find some answers, Wayne Manor.

Upon arriving at the Manor, she was somewhat disheartened by its vaguely rundown apperance. It wasn't the place she rmemebered. Something was much, much different.

Zatanna soon learned that she has been spit out nearly 50 year into the future. The man she once loved was an elderly, retired, grumpy old man who used a cane to walk around and scowled twice as much as before. She is doing her best to adjust, with the help of her new found friend, Terry.
