Last night was the last show of I Puritani at Deutsche Oper am Rhein for this season. I had a blast and I was honored to have taken part in it!

And tomorrow is the second premiere of Johann Strauss (Son)’s The Bat.

Anoche fue la última función de I Puritani en la Deutsche Oper am Rhein por esta temporada. ¡Disfruté mucho y fue un honor haber sido parte de esta producción!

Y mañana es la segunda premiere de la operetta El murciélago de Johann Strauss hijo.

Bellini’s “I Puritani” Premiere at Deutsche Oper am Rhein (English & Español)

Yesterday was the Premiere of the opera “I Puritani” written by Vicenzo Bellini at the opera company of Düsseldorf, Deutsche Oper am Rhein. I’m an extra playing one of the eight ladies in waiting of the protagonist, Elvira. This is what I’ve been doing for the past month or so. Rehearsing six days a week, sometimes two rehearsals per day. It has been worth it.

Ayer fue la premiere de la ópera “I Puritani” escrita por Vicenzo Bellini en la compañía de ópera de Düsseldorf, Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Soy una extra interpretando una de las ocho damas de compañía de la protagonista, Elvira. Esto es lo que he estado haciendo por el último mes y algo. Ensayando seis días a la semana. A veces, dos ensayos al día. Ha valido la pena.

The one responsible to direct this production was no other than opera star, Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón. He’s a love!

El responsable de dirigir esta producción no fue ningún otro que la estrella de la ópera, el tenor mejicano Rolando Villazón. ¡Es un amor de persona!

The audience’s reaction was outstanding and very positive. Everyone in the cast and crew both on and backstage were super hyped like I’ve rarely seen (this my fourth production.)

La respuesta del público fue increíble y muy positiva. Todos en el elenco y el equipo tanto sobre como detrás del escenario estaban muy emocionados como raramente he visto (esta es mi cuarta producción).

There are still eight shows to go spreading through what’s left from December and all January. Next month I’ll begin rehearsing Johann Strauss II’s operetta “The Bat” whose shows will spread until beginning April. Us extas will play the prisoners. the Once again I feel privileged to say this is my job. I love every part of it despite the long rehearsals hours and the late home comings after every show. An amazing experience!

Todavía hay ocho funciones más que se expanden a través de lo que queda de Diciembre hasta Enero. El próximo mes comenzaré los ensayos de la operetta de Johann Strauss II “El Murciélago” cuyas funciones se expandirán hasta principios de Abril. Nosotros los extras interpretaremos a los prisioneros. Otra vez me siento privilegiada de decir que este es mi trabajo. Disfruto de cada etapa a pesar de las largas horas de ensayo y las tardes llegadas a casa luego de cada función. ¡Es una experiencia increíble!

One of the cast tenors (a Venezuelan - hence written in Spanish) left this little detail at each of our chairs in the dressing room wishing us a great premiere and a happy Christmas and New Year.
