Spotted this partial opossum skull out in the woods while looking for shed antlers the other day. After scratching around in the leaves for a bit I found some of the skeleton too!

Opossum bone scavenging process/timeline!
Ok so about a week ago I found a carcass in my backyard, after I found the skull I figured out that it was an opossum (probably)! Yesterday I picked out a few bones & today I collected most of the bones from the carcass & began the cleaning process. Here are some pics of my find:

my beloved opossum skeleton, Scraps! honestly my favorite dead thing I’ve found. I just got finished degreasing them for the second time since I didn’t know what I was doing the first time. the bones got really yellow and greasy, but they look so much better now! I’m not sure if the lighting does them justice
Aaww! I'll keep them in this jar till I can properly clean them next week (I only cleaned them with water and soap and then blowdried them).
Anyone has some tips for a noob?? Aparently I need to soak them in peroxide and water? Idk.. I have a roar jaw but I never did that? I only cleaned it with water and let it dry in the sun.. is that bad?
I need tips plz
