rereading my posts about open seasons and tor vizsla is so familiar with jango. like "jaster would be disappointed in you kid" or "jaster didn't teach you this before he died, allow me to show how a warrior does it."
like you co-parented this young man with your bitter rival. like hes the kid you lost in the divorce. like you had other encounters with this young man beyond that brief moment decades ago when your army destroyed his family when he was a boy and he blew your face up in retaliation. ????
| Sistema: Vieja Escuela | Oráculo: One Page Solo Engine |
Mediano. Guerrero nivel 1

do we get any info from Open Seasons about the relation between Jango, Myles and Jaster? Like the comic describes Myles as Jango's right hand man but would that mean he served Jaster before he died or was he the same age as Jango and got appointed when he took the reigns of the TM?
well for all i can remember. myles only appears in opse. he doesn't have an extra lore drop somewhere else like jaster and vizsa.
i think montross was jasters only second. but truly, myles was such a plot device its basically free real estate.
i personally like to think he's jango's contemporary.
An anon sent me an ask abt an alternate plot for Open Seasons featuring:
-well-executed Mandalorian Criticalness
-class analysis in fiction my beloved
-tm moral conflict
-Jaster being complicated and young adult jango's bleeding heart
-Jaster-Jango conflict
-TM MORAL CONFLICT✊😤😤😤😤😤
-Multi-faceted TM, DW as more logical characters than just goons that move the plot along
-bad calls that make sense and u empathize with. and build up the story rather than just superficially move the plot along.
-more under the cut.
mind descriptions of armed conflict
Would it be interesting if the flaw of being a mercenary/lawman for hire such as accepting work in suppressing revolts or enforcing an oppressive law is what leads to Jaster getting killed
like in a rewrite of Open Seasons the TM get a job to put down an uprising on Korda Six for a corporation and Death Watch allies themselves with the rebels to both make themselves look better than Jaster and to deal a blow to the True Mandalorians.
Bonus if this leads to a fight between Jango who has serious issues with this and Jaster refuses to shift his position because the law is important and then he ends up being killed by Vizla.
and then Jango determined not to make the same mistake as his buir goes out of his way to help the rebels on Galidrean against the governor despite objections from other True Mandalorians which causes a split in the True Mandalorians.
So then Jango's faction helps the rebels which leads to the governor getting help from the Jedi who pretty much wipe out everyone save Jango who gets captured and enslaved.
There'd also be an interesting comparison between Jaster and Jango where the former's stubborn approach to justice gets him killed and the latter's stubborn approach to justice gets everyone around him killed.
THE POTENTIAL OF UR IDEA. BIG FAN OF THE DIRECTION UR HEADING!!!
Comments:
-i dont think jaster would take the job coz hes rigidly dedicated to galactic law. he's instead rigidly dedicated to his moral code and providing for his men. i think he's radicalized from his exile. remember he threw out his career coz a superior was abusing power
-i see most TM, including jaster, as people who are unionized to survive this shitty job they're locked in coz of circumstance and unmarketable skills.
so i think most of them, even some high command like jaster, would identify with the struggles of those laborers/rebels. but would selfishly prioritize making bank for their own financial stability and security, AND that of their dependents.
do with that what u will
-overall love ur idea. much potential!!!! ur characters all have way more logical motivations than its source. which makes me sympathize more with jango's conflict. TM's moral dilemma makes sense too. and has potential to make the group sound like a diverse group of believable ppl with personal goals as well as brotherhood(camaraderie). not just a trope moving the plot forward.
listening to my inner white star wars fan made me realize that the marvel digital comics scans of open seasons do have kinda washed-out colors.
WHILE this doesn't excuse the eurocentric features, i OWE it to white tbb/tcw fans to try to correct the colors and see if it really was whitewashed originally.
original panel || saturated edits || my ideal corrections based on images of young temuera morisson. and daniel logan who played an exact genetic duplicate of him
huh. these are still white people. well huh.
there are nuance u will miss as a white person but listen to hurt poc in ur fandom spaces cunts.
