I'm little worried about response towards latest One Piece Chapter. It seems like everyone glosses over the fact that Lucy Anne's will was essentially violated. And that once again woman suffered to further man's pain. 

Everyone romanticizes Senor Pink and Lucy Anne as a couple without addressing the problems. That troubles me.

I feel compassion towards Senor Pink for what he endured, but he isn't exactly innocent victim of circumstances here.

A chapter reaction before I sleep for a couple hours (just finished working the night shift) and then go do family stuff

There some differences in opinion on how people feel about Doflamingo cutting Law's arm off. Some people are shocked, some people are indifferent because they assume Law will just reattach it later (honestly I hope he can't--it's more meaningful that way, it diversifies the cast, and the end result of Law's struggle will have taken a much greater toll on him), and some people just think it lacks impact because Law's been too much of a punching bag this arc.

I was spoiled about this scene, so unfortunately I was not surprised in the slightest (seriously people--please don't talk about the chapter publicly before it's released in English), but nonetheless I am still happy that it happened. Doflamingo ripping Law apart (literally) so easily goes to back up what I've known all along--that Law is just no match for Doflamingo. And that's exactly the way I want it.

Probably the biggest complaint about Law is that on the whole he's... too perfect. He's hot, he's a Supernova and a Shichibukai, he's got one of the most desired Devil Fruit powers in the world, he's a D, he has one of the most brutal backstories in the series, etc. etc. Honestly, if it weren't for how often he's been absolutely humiliated and mortified by the Straw Hats' antics, and by the fact that he is much weaker than his ultimate enemy, Doflamingo, I would just be absolutely sick of Law. I do not care for perfect, shiny, "oh look at how amazing and strong and cool and perfect he is" kind of characters. I just don't.

What makes Law interesting to me is his flaws and his failures. I very much like how horrifically Doflamingo has thrashed Law this arc. Law is in this situation right now because he was so impatient with and fixated on seeing Doflamingo dead that he charged ahead with a shoddily prepared and very indirect plan that Doflamingo was more than prepared to turn upside down. Law and the Straw Hats have only survived this arc at all thanks to help from people that were never part of the plan at all--the Tontatta, the fellow Colosseum fighters, the Revolutionary Army, and massive amounts of dumb luck. And even with all that dumb luck, Law still got pumped full of bullets and had his arm cut off. Fundamentally, Law simply bit off more than he could chew. That's all there is to it. Dofalmingo had more resources than Law, a better plan than Law, and is stronger than Law. It was Law's impatience and fixation that made him try to carry out his plan despite this. Law may be strong, intelligent, resourceful, and more, but he is still simply over his head. And that's the way I like it. If Law beat Doflamingo all on his own, I would just be tired and bored, and would have no interest in him or what happens to him at all.

So some people may not be thrilled about the chapter, but things are happening exactly the way I want them to. The more terribly Doflamingo brutalizes Law, the more evil a villain Doflamingo becomes and the more interesting Law becomes as a multi-faceted character who, despite all his strengths, is in over his head and standing on deaths door thanks to his own personal failings.
