What do I believe?
This something I’ve been asking myself for a long time. I’ve had a good few different POVs throughout my life. I went to church as a kid, to Sunday school. I was baptized, and later moved away and stopped attending. I grew into science, and history. I learned about carbon dating, about our ancestors, and I began to question what I was raised with. Is there really a God? Is there actually a point in this absurd experience we’re all sharing? It certainly doesn’t feel like it sometimes.
I believe that, one day, humanity will go extinct. I believe that one day, the final star in the universe will burn out, the last black hole will blast away its radiation. I believe that earth will go dark, and everything as we know it will end.
And I believe that in order for there to be an end, there must have been a beginning, and that any and every ‘end’ is the beginning of something else.
I believe we’re not the first or only universe. I believe that this song and dance of life and death has happened before. And, I suppose, there must have been a single starting point for all of that. So, I suppose I believe there is, or perhaps was, a being that could be referred to as God.
I believe we are not alone, and that we are not insignificant. I believe we are not alone in the universe, even if meeting other life may be centuries away. I believe, somewhere, next to one of the billions of billions of stars, there’s a planet, with someone looking back.
Lie on your back. Close your eyes and reach up your arm. You’re holding hands with the universe. Every particle, every quark and atom, is all connected. We’re made of trillions of years of change, of stardust and entropy.
I believe this universe is temporary, that one day it will collapse in on itself and start anew, with new people to have this exact thought. But that won’t happen for trillions of years more. That doesnt take away from the here and now, from the joy and suffering we experience.
I believe WE are here to give the universe purpose.

Who cares?? We're all gonna die at some point, but that's a good thing!
Who wants to live forever? To have life get old and dry and still have infinity to go?

Nothing matters:
Nothing matters:
"What's the point" Maybe there isn't one. That's why you make one. Nothing matters until you make it matter.
The Great Change is when humankind accepts its role as part of the natural order of the universe instead of its role as a cancer.
