Headcanon/Prompt

Every time someone loses a canon life, a piece of their essence - an echo, if you will - is separated from their soul.

The nature of these echoes depends on how they died. Violent or emotion-heavy deaths may create a more opaque fragment with a distinct personality, while peaceful deaths may not create a visible echo at all. While the creation of an echo does not necessarily change someone's original personality, these ghosts can be said to represent traits that someone rejects in order to continue surviving, and that the universe nonetheless chooses to preserve.

When all three lives are lost, the bulk of a person's soul travels to Limbo, while any echoes left in the world become a fully-fledged ghost. Limbo is by definition an in-between state of life and death, something that is horrifying because it is fundamentally unnatural. A dead person cannot enter a happier afterlife unless they make peace with all remaining parts of their being, and what this means from person to person may vary.

Normally, echoes cannot communicate or interact with the world until they become a full ghost. However, some people can glimpse their own echoes while they're still alive. This is sometimes taken as a sign that someone is drawing closer to a final death, but it may also simply indicate a heavily introspective and intuitive nature, or even a prelude to healing.

More rarely, some people can see others' echoes - almost always due to a curse or divine favor. But in these war-torn days, when the land is covered by lost fragments of innocent people, whether it's a bane or a boon is hard to tell apart.

It's 2am. Have this TS Sides Plot:

All the Sides were out in the snow, having a snowball fight- like you do. Remus and Deceit were also invited to join, which they did.

Although Deceit did it reluctantly due to his snakey-ness.

Remus and Roman were ruling the battlefield as they assaulted Patton and Thomas as their wall wasn't well built. They were having fun though.

While Logan and Virgil snuck around behind the twins to attack them. They managed to knock off the 'Christmas Tentacle'- literally a hollowed out tentacle- that Remus had on his head before rushing off back to safety.

Deceit wanted to go back where it was warm. Back where the blankets were. Back where the hot chocolate was. But Roman and Remus said that they would only stop the snowball fight if someone 'won'. Despite the game having no rules to describe an end game.

But the Snake had had enough once it started snowing again. He was too cold, despite the three layers he had on, so he decided to end the game himself by doing something he rarely ever does...

Tell them the truth; it was too cold and he stopped caring about the game an hour ago.

.... Or use his extra two sets of hands to absolutely pulverise the competition. He liked that idea better.

 First of all... “Nest Eggs” can I call y’all that or no? Please tell me so I don’t embarrass myself by continuing to say it if you hate it.

 Second, what would you like to see happen in the “Cool Down” series (yes, it will be a series).

 - Should it just be a few more chapters of pure fluff?

 - Should I make it a lot more chapters and throw in a little angst?
