I've tried finding with sources but i can't find an exact answer, what triggers the shift between Jekyll and Hyde? Does your headcanon involve a different way compared to the original writing?

Aside from the potion, we have at least one instance in the novel where the shift occurs due to Jekyll having "bad" thoughts (comparing himself to others in a feeling of vainglorious superiority) and multiple times mentioned where Jekyll sleeps and/or gets tired.

My AU involves the possibility of shifts being triggered due to either strong emotions, or such that are distinctly belonging to the other persona (i.e. Jekyll flying into a fit of rage that ends up turning into him into Hyde, Hyde becoming unwillingly ashamed and turning back into Jekyll as a consequence etc. He won't turn back into Jekyll when angry for example, because he already embodies that emotion).

It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to pose an inconvenience lol
