Coffee Shop AU

Ik y’all said to just feed you but I finished this before the poll ended lmaooo

Horror

He’s 37 and owns a small coffee shop where he sells his own baked goods. He hasn’t hired anyone out of sheer trust issues, so he’s running the shop by himself. Due to his low stamina, he opens shop at 6:30 and closes around 3:30. That’s not even counting the fact he gets up hardly after midnight to get everything baked and prepared. He’s 6’3 with scars covering every inch of his body. He’s pretty threatening by default, and it usually scares customers away, but all the regulars got used to it. There’s been several occasions where he fell asleep at the register. Customers usually leave him be. Neck and back pain? That’s his day to day life. When he somehow is unable to sleep he just cooks. His memory isn’t the greatest, especially from the early points in his life. He won’t say much about where he came from other than the fact he grew up on a farm. His dream with the shop is that he can keep people fed and happy, which is why his prices are so low.

Dust

He’s supposedly 35, though the fact he’s 5’2 made Horror question that. He walked into shop one day and ordered a black coffee and a cinnabun, sat by the window and hardly said anything. Though the moment Horror woke up from a nap, the tables were all mysteriously clean. Saved Horror a lot of back pain. He came back into the shop on a daily basis, earlier each day, and looking more exhausted. Dust warmed up to Horror rather quickly. He never mentioned anything to Horror about having a job, so it’s assumed that he’s unemployed. He wears the same fiveish sets of clothes that are all pretty similar. He always covers skin. Dust doesn’t eat much, it worries Horror a lot. He’s mysterious but not really in a creepy way. Oh, he also doesn’t know what most restaurants are. He knows Mc Donald’s and shit like that. But he’s lost when someone mentions an IHOP. It’s like he’s lived under a rock most of his life and panics when he doesn’t recognize something. One day he just fell asleep at the table and physically could not be woken up for several hours. He also walks kind of funny, kind of limping, kind of not. Something always aches. He lived a life of crime, one that Killer was also involved in. He hasn’t told anyone about what he did. He needs it to stay that way.

More characters are to be introduced when I feel like it.

Not too much lore, but enough for you all to work with for the time being.

So actually I don't like the new armor as much. What's with the ab molds? It looks lore like superhero armor than functional witcher armor. Your thoughts?

I..... don’t love the abs tbh. I love the shoulder parts and the pants. The abs make him look like Batman and it’s just very unnecessary. I don’t want to be that person who complains about everything because ya know I am but I think this was wrong for the costume designers to do. Season 1 was perfect with costumes. Calanthe’s armor, Geralt’s armor, that was perfect. Literally so perfect. I think it’s oversexualizing Henry/Geralt and I think it looks badly photoshopped in the picture which I know it’s not but that’s how bad it looks. It looks like they took Batman’s suit and put Geralt’s head on it.

To sum it up, I don’t like it. I mean shit. If they were gonna do armor that’s nonfunctional but is supposed to look good, they could’ve gone with the school of the cat gear with the open ass bare arms.

I hope this is just a bad costume design and doesn’t mean that season 2 is gonna be low quality 😔 which I highly doubt but still. Some shows do so fucking good in season one but in the other seasons they sort of blow up and not in a good way.

Okay, I’m gonna say it.

I’ve said it quietly in side messages and I know I’m not alone in this feeling. 

I liked 2gether. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the beginning more than the end, but it’s not that the show made me enjoy the second half less. It’s the discourse that did it.

I love that everyone sees a show and has different thoughts and feelings about the show. I think that’s great, cause no two people are gonna see the same things in the same content. Sometimes we see what we want to see. Sometimes we focus on one part and miss another. Sometimes one storyline appeals more to one person than another. That’s awesome. That’s so cool. To see things from different angles and perspectives. I love having fandom discussions with my friends about different things in the same show. It’s awesome.

But I feel like 2gether was a polarizing show that became a battleground.

I don’t have to list all the things people fought over, you know what they are. Whether you participated in it or not, whether you attempted to avoid it or not. It was always there, lingering at the edges, on the sidelines, in the tags. In the reblogs.

I try to avoid the arguing and the discourse, but it got to a point where I felt like I couldn’t post anything without wording it all super carefully. I had to like, make sure I wasn’t taking one side or another, didn’t want to alienate anyone or hurt anyone. I started watching the show with all these thoughts in the back of my mind, like “IS Sarawat a jerk? Is he out of character?” I felt like I had to over-analyze everything towards the end. And felt like I needed to find defenses for how I felt about things that normally I would be able to just enjoy carelessly.

I’m not saying it’s bad to analyze, or that it’s bad to criticize. I’m just saying I think people just got so carried away fighting about things that it tainted the show for me a bit. I just wanted to watch Sarawat and Tine figure their way through their relationship. Wanted to watch their ups and downs and get confused and figure things out. I wanted to see them fall in love and recognize that love. I didn’t want to have to watch from the sidelines as people fought over how many kisses a show needs to have. Like. *sigh*

Can we all just calm down next time? I figure probably not, but idk. I wanted to participate in the fandom of this show, but the fighting just left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s probably why I gravitated away from meta at a certain point, stopped being interested in writing Tine/Wat fic. Just reblogging what other people made and talking privately with friends I knew were safe.

Desus Headcanon #3

Daryl talks in his sleep but only if he is in a real, deep sleep. It use to annoy his brother to no end, hearing him just burst out with snips of conversation through the night while dead asleep. No one in Team Family knows this...but Paul.

It scared Paul half to death the first time it happened. They had barely been sharing the same bed for a week when in the wee hours Daryl blurted out something about pigs feet. Paul had jolted up in bed, the motion not even waking the redneck, and stared at Daryl for a good five minutes before he was sure what just happened. It wasn't until it happened again the next night, that Paul understood completely and he almost got a face cramp he grinned so wide.

Over the next months Paul wasn't woken up every night by the sudden speaking. On the nights he was though, he would press close to his man, smiling as the drag of his fingers to the ever decreasing bags under Daryl's eyes didn't even cause a flinch.
