Laura is the Mythic Beast Black Reaper Ranger. She and her little sister Vanessa are mine.

Their younger brother Lupin is another friend, Zo's oc.

Joanna, only mentioned, is one of the evil generals in Mythic Beast. She belongs to @takingback-thepenguin

"You're so controlling!" Vanessa snaps. Her skirt is dirt stained and torn, her blouse is loose and hanging off one shoulder. Her face is cut up and there's a bruise on her cheek, but when Laura had asked-

"Van, please, all I asked was if you were okay!" Laura tries, her voice level despite the confusion and worry.

Vanessa scoffs, all of nineteen with her father's temper and none of the control. "You just want to know so you can ban me from seeing all my friends!" she snaps.

Laura hadn't wanted that, but now she kinda does. Because if that friend is making Vanessa act like this? No, this isn't how Dad and Daddy raised them and Lupin. "That's not what I wanted, Ness, please. Just talk to me, what's wrong?

Vanessa shakes her head and turns away. As she's walking away, Laura sees a little chameleon pin on her jacket. Laura gasps softly. She knows exactly what's happened.

"How could you?" - Phee and Henry

This one is so appealing to me. Like- SO appealing to me. Part of a three part series, in no particular order.

Phee belongs to Penguin, Blue Cinema Action Ranger. Henry belongs to me, Gold Cinema Action Ranger. Ezra, mentioned only, ALSO belongs to me.

Henry wouldn't say that he wanted to be here, but he's allowing it. He deserves it, for sure.

"How could you?" Phee, Cinema Action Ranger Blue, repeated herself. "How could you do that to him? Why would you do that to him."

Henry didn't have an answer. "I don't know," he says, voice soft and almost inaudible. "I didn't- I didn't know-"

Phee's eyes are what shuts Henry up. The way they narrow, the way she's looking at him like she could gut him with one cutting glare. For a moment, Henry believes she could. This is Ezra's girl. Henry believes she could do anything she sets her mind to.

"You're going to stay away," Phee says. "You're not going to hurt Ezra again. You're never going to get the chance."

Henry can't make that promise. His father wouldn't allow that. Still, he looks this girl in the eyes and nods. "I will," he says. Because Henry won't ever speak to Ezra again. Ranger Gold would show up to fights and he'd follow whatever orders his father laid out... but Henry Burkhardt would never darken the doorstep of Ezra's home again.

Phee flips Henry off before she leaves. Henry's heart sinks. He deserves it.

"What's wrong?" - Brody and Ezra

Oh, Brody. Brody, you sweet, sweet boy. Part of a three part series, that's in no particular order.

Brody is Penguin's, Green Cinema Action Ranger. Ezra is mine, Copper Cinema Action Ranger. Avery belongs to @estel-eruantien

Ezra's in the lab when Brody finds him. He's working on something Avery hasn't been able to fix. Brody comes closer, wondering what he's doing. "Hey, Ezra," he says. "What are ye workin' on?"

Ezra looks up. "Oh, just somethin' Avery couldn't figure out yet. I was looking at it out of curiosity." His voice is wrecked—hoarse and tired. Now that Brody looks, Ezra's eyes are red like he's been staring into this problem for hours. Brody's never seen Ezra look like that. The Western Ranger has always been so put together, so strong. Things roll off his back so easily, like nothing can hurt him.

Brody looks at Ezra and sees a reflection of pain and suffering. "What's wrong?" he asks, worried for his boyfriend.

Ezra blinks, and for a moment, Brody thinks the Western Ranger won't respond. Ezra has a great poker face, he learned it from his mom, and he uses it as a mask when he needs to. Then Ezra sighs shakily and rubs his hand over his face. "Just... learned some information that I'd rather have not known," he says.

Brody tilts his head. "You wanna talk about it?"

Ezra thinks about it. Then he shakes his head. "No, I... I think I just want to work right now."

Brody nods. He can do that. "I was gonna see about working on upgrades to the Cinema Cycles?" he offers.

Ezra nods. "Yeah. Yeah, sounds perfect."

Brody smiles a little and heads that way. "Right this way, a laochain."

Ezra smiles a little and follows after him. Brody counts it as a win.

"You're allowed to need help." - Nick and Don (brother in law heart to heart?)

I love them so much. Nick, as always, belongs to Penguin. He's from the Crystal Force team. Don is mine, he's the Purple Dino Unit Ranger. Kit belongs to another friend of mine, @mendokuse19. Aspen belongs to @estel-eruantien.

Don is kind of guy who knows a lot of things about a variety of topics. As a kid, he'd taken after his dad, Noah, and learned everything about science he could. Then his focus had shifted to building and inventing, but when he'd discovered dinosaurs, more importantly the turtle ancestors that had been around in that time, Don had been in love ever since.

Don never needs help. He's independent and capable. He gets his job at the Dino Sanctuary, becomes a Ranger, joins the family legacy. He even gets a boyfriend. He does it all on his own. And then... and then Kit turns out to be the son of their enemy.

And it's not like Don cares, but... he really fucking does. And he doesn't even know why. It's still Kit, Kit hasn't changed, and yet...

Don curls up on the steps of his sister's apartment, head on his knees, and tries to make sense of the mess in his head. He's been there for hours while his sister is away, waiting for her to come back. He hears the door open, but he doesn't acknowledge it. Then a blanket is draped over his shoulders and he looks up.

Nick is his sister's husband, one of two. Nick understands Don a little better than Aspen does. Don takes the blanket. "Thanks," he says softly.

Nick nods and sits next to Don. "I know you can do it yourself," he says, "but you're allowed to need help. And if you need it, I'm there."

Don smiles a little and nods. "Thanks, Nick," he murmurs. They sit in the silence for a while. They don't speak.

Nothing gets solved. Bit still, Don feels better. For now, that's enough.

"Unless you ask me not to in the next five seconds, I'm going to hug you." - Artie and Quinn

Yesssss. They're so sweet and I love them.

Artie Hargan is Penguin's. He is the Black Storybook Ranger. Quinn Hargan is mine, she's his older sister and not a Ranger yet.

When Laura called her, Quinn had been about to go on stage. Given that Laura wouldn't call her unless it's an emergency, Quinn immediately grabs a friend, Twisty Treat, and asks for him to go on for her. Once that's secure, Quinn wastes no time in answering the call, getting the details, and changing into more presentable clothing before she pulls her hair up and hurries off to get to Laura and—more importantly—Artie.

Frank isn't the happiest to see yet another person in his apartment, but he allows it since Artie immediately latches onto her.

Quinn assures her little brother that she won't be leaving, but that she's only there to watch their back. She sends out the fox spirit to keep guard as she sits with Artie on the couch. Frank and Tim are getting packed to head to Briarwood, so Quinn has some time to focus on her brother.

She sits with Artie, hands steady on his back. "Talk to me, Ants?" she asks softly.

Artie is quiet for several minutes. Then he sniffles and says, "Unless you tell me not in the next five seconds, I'm going to hug you."

Quinn smiles a little and opens her arms to let him do just that. "I'd never tell you no, my little anteater." She kisses the top of his head like she used to do when they where younger. Arties trembles against her shoulder, and Quinn holds on tight like she can take on his pain with the force of her love alone. Quinn will get the whole story later, for now though...

Artie breathes deep and hugs Quinn tighter. Quinn hums softly, rocking gently. For now, it's enough that she's here for Artie.
