it was supposed to be an entire scene with more characters in it, but I only had a little over 2 hours to make it, so... I ran overtime anyway, and I don't know how I'll wake up in the morning =.=

here it is, my first (and late) entry for an OC challenge on Instagram 1st day: Introduction

In this scene, the duo come across soldiers and my tired of life hero tries to explain the presence of his unusual companion. He frequently says she's a lunatic in search of a cure, with varying results.

I will try to catch up with the challenge later this week.

Some fun facts about Yui: He fidgets a lot and plays with his hair. His eyes are actually dark brown, but he wears seafoam green contacts. It’s not like he doesn’t like his eyes or anything. He just likes to be showy, and unnaturally bright eyes make people go “whoa!” I kinda forgot how much he likes attention. Also, his hair is actually black or dark brown, but he bleaches it blonde. I’m considering having him keep it dark on the underside… you can’t see it in this picture. And yes, he wears makeup. I even gave him blonde mascara in this one! …

Unlike other artists, I don’t care to make my pictures complete, so please excuse the floating head and hand. I’m realizing lately how much I feel like I care more about writing stories than I do about art. Yeah, I like things to be pretty, but I’m not going to spend forever on a single picture, and I don’t care for making things look super perfect as long as I get the character across. I care about characters and stories way more than artistic technique. I feel like I’m keeping this huge secret from the world by convincing everyone that I’m an artist, when I’m AT LEAST as much of a writer. Even if most of my writing thus far has been comic/manga writing. I’ve always cared more for writing storyboards than for drawing the finished pages. I’d rather get the story out quickly, so people can enjoy it. Sorry for the rant. xD

The truth is I don't know if this will interest anyone but I wanted to publish this little comic that I made for a contest. The title is Kabe and Regem and it is a little story loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood and Princess Mononoke.

Honestly, I have done this mainly to practice and improve my manga narrative. I don't know if I'll be able to continue it but I hope it's at least a little bit interesting.

In addition to that soon I will return to the 4 monthly updates so I ask you for a little patience and stay safe!
