Hmm so I just learned about the whole Orion Experience/Orion Simprini shitshow, and I'm like hella grossed out, I don't think I can listen to any of their songs anymore. Which sucks bc like, their songs were so good and there's so few bands that I actually ever listen to bc I'm not super into music.

Like I love that they included be gay do crime in a song lyric, and "let's get mischievous- and polyamorous" is a banger of a line. Not to mention the fantastic album art. But it's all totally ruined by the fact that they also have stuff like "so young and innocent" in their songs which already felt questionable and now just feels nauseating with the context of the fucked up shit they've done.

So like I don't usually ask for music recs but does anyone have any good recommendations for stuff that's similar to them? Or maybe some good covers of their Albums, preferably that have those gross little tidbits removed or replaced by something nicer? (Like it wouldn't take much to make their songs a lot better by like flipping things like "You're young and beautiful" to "*We're* young and beautiful".) Or like actually even just a cover of the Cult of Dionysus with fem vocals would be amazing.

Or actually even just really queer music in general. I like TOE for just sorta the unabashedly queer vibes they got, and like I'm kinda shit at finding music so I don't know a whole lot of bands that are like that.

Ya know what sucks? when one of your favorite bands turns out to be partially run by a serial child groomer, so you can't listen to their music anymore in good conscious...but their music was amazing and you are yet to find anything close to what they made

hey not to be a bearer of bad news but i just went on tiktok and it turns out that Orion Simprini of The Orion Experience has been exposed for inappropriately interacting with teenage fans and from what I can tell these stories are true. This doesn’t seem to have made it over here yet so I thought I’d make a post.
