I’m not convinced I didn’t write Osros’s backstory with this song in mind, because it fits So Well but it was never on my playlist until a few months ago. Pretty self explanatory, unrequited love get’s rejected, time to Bounce.

Osros, bi disaster, flirts with danger. My “flaws” on my original character sheet said pretty much that. Would have made a good rogue or bard, really. But hey, who’s this hot elf trying to kill us?

I flip-flopped between covers for a while on this, Beau + Luci were the next contenders, but I like the delivery of these lines best in this version. There's so many lines I could mention from both Osros’ and Talone’s perspectives but “Maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new” (Talone, referencing the hair guy who’s name i will never remember) and “ I'm sorry to interrupt it's just I'm constantly//on the cusp of trying to kiss you//I don't know if you feel the same as I do//But we could be together, if you wanted to” (Kitchen Conversation) are worthwhile though.

I just copied the whole lyrics over here, because... damn Renee really wrote that death scene and killed me specifically emotionally. I love it. Does he get his happy ending? I guess we might never know. They had a good run, at least. Which brings us too...

Another Night On Mars - The Maine

Damn you ready to get angsty over here? DND saved my life. Over and over. This damn character (and the ones who came after him) and group of nerds (and the ones who came after them) gave me a reason to get to the weekend every week through a damn difficult part of my life. I’m through that now, but I still get to play this wonderful game and enjoy these wonderful memories. So here’s to the Beauty Boys Tabletop Adventures gang, and to the Company of the Black Cats, you sparked many more adventures.

19: "Did you do that for me?" 

It is not one of Einkil’s prouder moments. He’d gotten as far as getting into a lower end bar across Itiirae from where his father and he were supposed to be meeting other diplomats, and was a few drinks in and laughing with a group of older elves and half elves, mostly just on the sidelines while they talked shit about some old friend. 

His sister all but kicked the door open. Viet’s eyes immediately narrow in on him, and its a blessing of the man to his right that she doesn’t reach his chair. The half-elf must recognize a look on his face, because before he knows it he’s lifted and swung over the bar, the man impacting behind him, and being quickly guided back through the kitchens and into an alley. Einkil only takes a breath to cough as he’s roughly set down, the elf leaning a little against the wall. Einkil tucks his hair back in time with the other man. 

“She your sister? You should probably run, kid.” The man flashes an apologetic smile. Einkil nods and looks towards the street worriedly. 

“Did you do that for me?” He doesn’t think many people this side of town would know who he is, and less would care, but it’s the first thought that passes through his mind. 

“Nah,” The half-elf laughs. “I got two sisters - married into them, you could say, but still. Never good to see that look on their face. One once stole my pants.” The man looks a little over Einkil’s shoulder, what could be reminiscing if he didn’t then duck and give him a shove. “Get going, stay safe.” Einkil doesn’t need to be told twice, giving a firm nod and turning on his heel, out the alley, and into the street, dodging through a garden (carefully) to stay out of sight of the front of the bar. He knows there’s a talking to due when he gets home, so his feet carry him through the woods, moss under toe.

3: "You're all I've got"

ANGST! 

Osros faintly remembered Talone yelling. His hands were moving frantically, pointing, clenching into fists, chopping the air. Osros, however, couldn’t remember a single shouted word.

All he could remember is the heartbreak of Talone packing his things into a backpack, readying his horse, and leaving. Osros had lifted his hand, as if that could stop the angry elven man, but it was too late. It was done. Talone had left them. Talone had left him. 

Osros sat down hard into some chair in some room in the keep, tears falling freely. “But Talone... You’re all I’ve got.”

Cloak clutched Rae’wyn’s bloody hand, tears pricking at the corner of her eyes. The tears made the normally icy blue soft and watery and vulnerable and so un-Cloak. The elf princess was gasping for breath as blood gurgled in her throat, cutting off the airflow. Rae’wyn tried for a smile, her red-stained teeth barely peeking through dry lips. 

A drop of water splashed onto Rae’wyn’s cheek, causing dried blood to swirl and cascade down her face. Cloak realized with a start that it was a teardrop. Her teardrop. She was crying. Her tough, emotionless façade was splintering to pieces. The gnome furiously rubbed her cheeks, trying to get rid of the tears.

“Come on Rae’wyn. You can’t die.” Cloak whispered into their clasped hands. “You’re all I’ve got.”

Adrik figured it was time. Cloak had seen it, hell even Rae’wyn had seen it and she was oblivious to most things. So he waited until everyone retired to their rooms for the night, save for Sylreth and him. Clearing his throat nervously, the dwarf turned to the elf. Sylreth marked the page in the book he was reading, and looked up at Adrik.

He offered a warm smile. “Can I help you, Adrik?”

“I, uh, was wondering if you’d like to go to dinner sometime? Just the two of us?” Adrik anxiously smiled back.

A range of emotions flickered over Sylreth’s face. “Adrik, I’m sorry if I’ve led you on, but I simply don’t feel the same way.” the brunet coughed awkwardly, then stood up quickly, grabbing his book. “Uh, good night Adrik.”

The dwarf watched Sylreth’s retreating form and stood. He got a mug of ale and drank it quickly.

Adrik slammed down another ale. “Well, sister. It seems now you’re all I’ve got.”

I physically cannot put old town road on osros’ playlist he would manafest and strangle me hes as far from country as i am capable of creating in a character okay but. He does love his god damn horse

For the oc thing, the happiest moment for Reymoira was when she found out magical daggers were a Thing so she just stole all of those from the store

Also- for Osros: post Talk™️ with Talone, seeing Rae’wyn and Cloaks faces and how happy they were for him and also just?? Thats my BOYFRIEND??

12. How does this character handle stress? 1. What influenced or inspired the creation of this character?

Very much a reimagining of a character from one of the first ‘novels’ i wrote when I was 11. That character was in turn influenced a bit by the kid from maximum ride? whose name started w an I?? 

3. Who is the closest person to them? 

probably Rae’wyn and Sylreth, then Talone! 

12. How does this character handle stress?

If he can fuck shit up? CHARGE. if not, he paces a lot and talks too much, or if it’s really bad, goes dead silent. 

15. What is the best gift they could receive?

Honestly, just getting to live as eye candy on Talone’s arm for the rest of their days would be the most he could hope for. maybe having a little cottage and learning more gardening from Rae. Really, just peace! 

20. What is something this character is or could be addicted to?

Uhh he was a bit of a drinker in the campaign I think but not excessive, he kinda cares enough about himself that he’s pretty careful to keep his life balanced.
