Amber Ward, undergraduate working on a bachelor's degree in anthropology at Acheron University, an institution in southern Massachusetts. Enrolled in 1931 on recommendation of one Professor Oswald Cavendish, and primarily under the tutelage of the mysterious Professor of anthropology, Pheobe Cottontree.
Now coming to the middle of her Junior year, late November 1933, eerie things begin to happen. Disappearances, nightmares, stalkings... She can't sleep most nights due to the blaring of ambulances. The only one who seems aware of what's going on is Professor Cottontree, who refuses to do anything about it. She acts like she's playing dumb but Amber knows better. Amber hears her muttering in her study at night, constantly scribbling in her journal.
Our game, Into the Empty, begins with Amber taking matters into her own hands. No minutes wasted. Four locks picked. Five pulses of pain in her skull. One journal stolen. The answers are in the woods.
