Otakuthon is almost over D:
here have some Kamen rider art
Princess Zelda, Ocarina of Time
This costume has truely been a labour in the flow of time. Oot Zelda was one of my very first cosplays back in the infancy of my cosplay career, a costume that I have long wanted to remake. Two years ago I decided to take the plunge and officially begin bringing a new version of this cosplay to life. Except I was also only 7 delirious months postpartum from my first baby at the time- and definitely fueled by crippling (self imposed) expectations of productivity and such intense sleep depravation that I think I almost astral projected a few times... All to say, it was not the brightest idea to throw myself into a project that meant so much to me, but somehow at the same time, it was exactly the right time.
As the months went on, small progress was made, and I luckily decided early on that when progress soured or felt unfun- that I'd walk away until it felt right to come back. So half a year of progress, turned into a year, and then a year turned into two. And another pregnancy, and whole other baby in that time too. The flow of time is always cruel, as they say.
I cannot say I was consistent with my progress, but it was a reliable project to fall back into when the moments provided themselves. At long last, she is done. And I feel every bit as proud of this costume as I did my first iteration of OOT Zelda all those years ago, and then some!

Commission I drew on the Supernote of my customer with a baby Paolumu while I was at Otakuthon this year. I finished it while lining up to meet ProZD :D
