Forever, Interrupted By Taylor Jenkins Reid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Libby app fully dictated when I read this story and I don't regret giving in. Forever, Interrupted is about a whirlwind romance lasting six months. Elise and Ben meet and elope within that time. However, Ben is tragically killed nine days after their ceremony. The story follows Elise's methods of coping and getting to know the mother-in-law she never met. Both have lost their husbands and most of their relationship is them supporting and being supported. I loved this story so much. The plot was heavy, but filled with a back and forth telling of how Elise and Ben's relationship progresses and how she works through her new life once he's gone. Je réapparais ici une fois tout les 36 du mois. Là j’avais envie de montrer ce joli livre lu il y a quelques mois. Taylor Jenkins Reid est clairement une de mes autrices préférées tant j’aime ces histoires. Avec celui-ci, elle m’a tenu en haleine pour cette histoire d’amour raconte de façon originale. Celle d’Elsie et Ben qui vont se rencontrer, s’aimer mais que la vie va séparer très rapidement. Les chapitres alternent entre le passé et le présent ou l’autrice nous raconte le début de cette histoire d’amour et la vie d’Elsie après le drame. C’est beau et terriblement touchant ! . In this one she tells us the beautiful love story of Elsie and Ben. They meet, they live, they love then he dies pretty quickly. We get to follow their love story through chapters in the past and Elsie’s grief in the present and it’s so good. ••••• Taylor Jenkins Reid's first four books. She's more well known for her newer releases like Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones, but I wanted to try some of her older books. All of them are adult contemporary that are centered around marriage which is out of my comfort zone. But Taylor Jenkins Reid has always been good at creating complex character relationships. It is but it deals with love, loss, grief, embracing the pain than just romance. ✨ The story goes back and forth between the past where she's so happy with Ben and in the present where she's grieving together with Susan and healing. It'll be like a detailed running commentary of Elsie's life with many touching moments. Both Elsie and Susan are strong characters. Have tissues ready towards the climax. It was short but they gave everything they have to each other. They built something wonderful that is theirs, that they can treasure forever. After recovering (like in a few hours or minutes even: bookworm alert!)
