with the discovery of Hacked Color, I feel like we need a nickname for him or a duo name with him and Killer- maybe both.

"Hacked" is simple and to the point, but I'm not sure that'd be a good nickname.

I dunno, the Player is referred to as “Her” but the writer of the Othertale scripts sometimes reblogged posts by superyoumna with this:

in the tags. “Red,” but heavily distorted—as if hacked.

Do you think Color being hacked by the Player would be something that would happen at random times, with his friends having to keep an eye on him while he's in that state, or would it just be a one-time thing?

I think it’s a one time thing, happened because of a Deal that Color made during a state of heightened distress and emotions.

In one of the Something New comics, when Color and Killer are talking about fixing Killer’s SOUL, Color mentioned that he knows a guy. I assumed this guy was/is Gaster.

It’s not actually confirmed as far as I’m aware, but I’m assuming Gaster is the reason why Color is no longer influenced by the Player. Which only makes sense, considering Gaster likely feels responsible for everything that happened in the first place.
