OUR HISTORY CAN'T BE CONTAINED BY LINES ON A MAP
Before borders, before nations, there was identity. There were languages, traditions, knowledge, and roots that ran across this entire continent.
We are the descendants of warriors, farmers, artists, and dreamers. Our story is not one of limits — it is one of legacy.

The Trees and The Wild - Our Roots
Sticking to Our Roots
I love my culture and history and love that many do celebrate their origins. Many people out there share the same feeling I do and are as proud of their rich heritage. Some very good website we love to frequent includes Indian Youth as so many modern Native Americans forget that we are a rich, proud, and strong community. Especially children growing up to parents with a white American father and Native American mother or vise verse do forget their roots and simply neglect to learn more of their ancestors.
Another great website where they actually reward and promote our individualism is indigenousimageawards.com where focus is placed across a wide spectrum of various industries. Here you find mention of greatness from hairstyles, to food and movies for natives. We believe that websites such as this empowers us as many of our communities are impoverished. With the more than 550 tribes still existing is it reported and indeed true that an 85 percent unemployment rate is present.
Websites that are open to improving communities, open new ideas and offer rewards and awards for natives empower us and improve the lives of our children of toady and the future. Another cool website, which you as non-native will find inspiring and hugely educational, is Native Youth Magazine. Even youngsters from our culture who seems far from their roots will find it hugely educational as most modern American Indian have completely abandoned their won roots and dissociated themselves.
