This particular quote - honestly, this whole scene - has the nauseating force of a sucker punch directly to the gut
It was Christ who willingly went to the cross, and it was our sins that took him there.

The Goddess of Sun gave us this power, my parents taught me when I was just a little girl. They say that our fire is fueled by our love and strength, yet mine just barely flickers, like dying embers in the rain. Maybe it's the anger that smothers it.
The first feeling I can remember from my childhood is wrath, the second one is guilt at the existance of the former. In books, they always describe wrath as power, ambition, strength and confidence; in reality, it makes you weak and vulnerable, attacked even by your own thoughts. It feels like drowning and I don't want to be like this anymore.
