What a beautiful balmy evening and a fantastic turnout for our World Premiere screenings of Amanda Thomson’s Rest In Peace and Alex MacKenzie’s Pinhole Park, followed by Out of the Archives.

Thanks to everyone who attended (and a special shout out to the kids of the park for the soccer practice net that we creatively transformed into a very sturdy outdoor screen).

For those who keep lists or want to follow up on further research, here are the films we screened in the second half:

Please join us for an evening of strange, obscure, indefinable and utterly entertaining films on 16mm from our giant archive of orphan celluloid, abandoned by institutions and schools to find a new life on the screen right here at the Iris Film Collective Burrard View Park Fieldhouse. This round you can learn police tactics with MOB & RIOT CONTROL, revisit the great NFB classic THE BALLAD OF CROWFOOT, experience hand-carved wooden animation with George Pal's PUPPETOONS and many more.

Bring a blanket and snacks and we will see you there!

quick question, can you submit multiple entries or is it just one? and can you do say, one statement and one art piece?

You can submit multiple entries, but you are less likely to be picked for more than one. We want to show a wide array of content from different creators, but if we don’t get many responses, more than one could be included in the final zine. Plus, some pieces might tie in more with the theme of our zine than others, and be chosen that way.
