ʚ ɞ lowkey does not notice a demeanor change until you're actually crawling up the walls, I really view him as a “huh” type of guy and he doesn't really get it until you snap at him
ʚ ɞ begrudgingly snatches some peanuts from Buck’s bar downstairs to tide you over until y'all can fetch some actual dinner
ʚ ɞ yall may have briefly broken up due to this (for maybe like 3 hours then you get lunch and all is forgiven)

ʚ ɞ He gets it (he doesnt this boy smokes 10 packs a day his appetite is GONE) but in the sense that he knows the feeling (what a pepsi addict fr) so while youre snacking hes quenching his addiction
ʚ ɞ probably goes into some internal monologue he’ll journal about later about how you hate him and then he looks over to you munching on some chips happy as a clam
ʚ ɞ genuinely gets his feelings a little hurt, you definitely have to reassure him that you DON'T hate him you were just really REALLY hungry
ʚ ɞ Offers you a cigarette so you'll stop fussing (what a guy thing to do bro)
ʚ ɞ kind of a “throw some orange slices and run” type of guy in these situations.

ʚ ɞ The first time it happened and he was being all sunshiney like usually and you rolled your eyes in annoyance at something he did he was so worried that you were gonna break up with him or something but then yall had a milkshake and everything was peachy (he was relieved)
ʚ ɞ he now knows when you need a snack so he’ll slide you something from under the counter at the DX and takes it out of his paycheck if it means you'll be happy.
ʚ ɞ Definitley takes you out to the Dingo for fries and milkshakes later cause he feels bad you got upset
ʚ ɞ He helps you regulate your anger and frustration pretty well by just being reassuring and peppy like he always is
ʚ ɞ Carries a few granola bars around for you just in case

ʚ ɞ instantly notices a demeanor change when you get some food and he learns for next time (not to be a downer but he’s very perceptive of things that cause emotions in people because he’s always walking on eggshells with his parents)
ʚ ɞ does a little mental walk back before your attitude and it dawns on him
ʚ ɞ throws a casual “..so.. Wanna go eat?”
ʚ ɞ happy wife happy life, hed use his last 50¢ to buy you a burger and some fries if it means you'd stop throwing dodgy looks at everyone around you.
ʚ ɞ Already a pretty quiet guy but he gets quieter if you start getting snippy with him and just starts redirecting wherever you're walking to in the direction of the nearest food source.

ʚ ɞ If youre a bit edgy with him he notices, especially if you're normally really sweet.

ʚ ɞ if on the off chance you didn't get food yourself and he had to work late then he's honestly too tired to fight with you and just nods and gives some “yes dear”s while you're going off and then inches towards the kitchen to make you something (at the speed in which he can escape without being told off more)

ʚ ɞ also passes you snacks under the counter at the DX but im not gonna lie he does NOT pay for them 100% of the time.. But what's anyone gonna do? It's just him and Soda working there most days and he's too good at fixing cars for cheap that no one's gonna fire him for a pack of candy here and there.
