Q&A: "Who are these guys?" these are my Gorillaz OCs Marilyn Niccals (the woman) and Matthew "Max" Wells (the man), they are all over my page as I have been hyperfixated on them for almost 3 years now.
"Are they together?" Absolutely not, they both have gfs and are like cousins/siblings since Marilyn views 2D as her uncle and Matt sees Murdoc as his "uncle Murdy" in return.
"How does this relate to Gorillaz?" Marilyn is Murdoc's daughter, the result of his nights in Mexico in 2002 after Phase 1's breakup and has been with him on and off (going to jail after Plastic Beach he lost custody of her once) since Phase 2 in 2006 when she was 3 years old. They have a rough relationship. Matthew is also 2D's son from around that same time when he was away from Gorillaz. He did not grow up with 2D or know his real father until he was 15 during Song Machine. They have a good relationship, albeit awkward at times. Marilyn and Matthew have been friends since 2020 and have their own Rock band, which is why I tag all art of them under "Outsiderz" as it's their band name.
"Are there any ships between the cannon characters in this story?" With Gorillaz? Nope. Only ships are between Outsiderz/the original characters, the kid's moms want nothing to do with those men, and no ships between Gorillaz. I mean Marilyn sees Russel as her replacement for a mother so I guess you could interpret Murdoc and Russel's dynamic as RussDoc if you squint but it's not intentional.
"Are you inserting them into the MV?" Yes and no. This is all an AU of Gorillaz where everything is the same, it's just 2D and Murdoc didn't get away scott free from their illegitimate children. Kind of. Anyway. In this AU, since they have their own band now, they sing The Manifesto instead. Marilyn raps in Spanish and Matthew sings the part that sounds like a country song, leaving the rest to Poof and 2D like usual. They are here for that and Gorillaz take them on a little adventure to The Mountain peak before they start recording to ground them in the ideals the album has. It's not the same trip the ones take in the MV, so technically no. I do have ideas I want to make but I don't know if I will be able to, however a fic is in the works. These outfits are what you will see them in, should I make this bigger.
"Is more information available about these OCs?" Not yet as I still need to make character sheets and posts, I'm just lazy, in collage, and chronically ill so whatever I make nowadays I consider a miracle lol. You can read this for more information about Marilyn however, as I've been working on this series for over 2 years now. I would really appreciate it if you checked it out! It's lots of Murdad but in the most toxic yet sometimes wholesome way possible.
