🏺OUT TODAY🏺 . I firmly believe that no matter what kind of reader you are, if Greek legends and female focused stories are your jam, Ithaca is what you are looking for, as long as long as what you are looking for is not happiness because Ms. North took the Greek tragedy aspect of the story to heart and decided to rip out ours while she was at it. From the very first line, I knew that this was a book I ached to devour and couldn't. I don't want to exhaust you with stupid Greek metaphors but it felt akin to a tapestry that the more you looked at the more complex it became until you felt like you were weaved in the middle of it, breathing it in. The characters, the plot, the setting, the mythology, the world building, the language choices...everything was so rich that I had to pause every couple sentences just to breath out and take it all in. I went into this book with the highest of expectations after being a fan of the author for years but Ithaca flew over each and every one of them. Every time I hear about or start a new Claire North book Iaways ask myself "what genre will she win at next?" and this time it was Greek retellings. Damn, am I looking forward to her next book already. .
