@askoverkill Mirabelle theory
So, Mira has been acting a little weird for a while now, and it seems even more noticeable in the current loop (loop 46). So far, I’m seeing two different avenues to explore: the “bad feelings” Mira gets, and the times where she gets the Change symbol in her eyes.
First, I want to talk about the weird feelings Mira has been getting, as well as how she somehow navigates the Labyrinth without any detours.
Indeed, despite Dawn, Dusk and Lupus being the only party members to remember the loops, they aren’t leading the party and therefore wouldn’t be able to avoid potential roadblocks: yet, we haven’t met any. Even in the corridor to the trap building room, where there were two options with one leading to a dead end in isat, the party is immediately looking in the right direction.
In fact, if you look more closely to the party’s path through the labyrinth while they're led by Mira, they aren’t going into any room which doesn’t have anything useful in time, whether it be information, keys or tomato bombs.
In a way, Mira seems to have some subconscious knowledge of the Labyrinth’s current layout, despite it being different from the House she knew. This can be seen in how she wanted to go left the first time the party arrived to floor 2, which would be the fastest way to go through the floor in normal circumstances. Similarly, she only tried to enter a Nostalgie room when a tomato bomb would be needed next and the party didn’t have one yet.
Also, when she and Isa went alone through the rooms back in floor 1 this loop, they headed to the correct room immediately.
I feel like Mira might be somewhat aware of/affected by the Director’s script: she might be aware of the best path forward in case Siffrin can’t lead the party, and most importantly, her bad feelings seem similar to when the Director chose to remove the date in floor 1. A bad event happens in a loop, and the people affected by said event avoid it in whatever way they can: either by removing the game for the Director, or by avoiding the rooms in question for Mirabelle. So, when the party is about to reach a room with a crack in it, Mira stops them and says she should go alone because she thinks she’s immune to it. Similarly, she has been avoiding going in the direction of the gardening room for as long as possible in the current loop, going right on floor 2 and then telling the party not to enter the room. That’s because going into that room makes the entire party reveal that they don’t think they can win against the Director, which is extremely bad for the group’s morale especially as Dawn’s condition gets worse.
Now, onto the second part of Mira’s actions being weird: her behavior when she gets the Change symbol in her eyes. In isat, this happens twice: when defeating the King, both normally and during act 5. In both of these situations, she gives a great speech about how the King is going against her country and the Change belief, before using a powerful Craft spell to either make the King disappear or reflect his time freeze at him.
This does not fit with the times the Change symbol appeared in overkill. So far, we have seen it in four situations: when Mira first encountered the Director, when she told Dawn she would save him both in the armory and the Clocktower, and during the rock paper scissors tournament.
In the cases which aren’t flashbacks, the way she acts seems very strange: she seems more manic than passionate like she was in isat, and she keeps on referring to her position as a blessed savior who will save the world from the Director instead of how fae has impacted everyone’s lives so far. This is even more noticeable in the rock paper scissors tournament, because she starts a speech as she usually would before it seemingly got derailed when the Change symbol appeared.
Also, the Change symbol is likely not caused by the Change God possessing her: we’ve seen that happen already, and her face and eyes look completely different when that happens.
Taking all of this into account, I feel like Mira might be influenced by some Mind Craft, and has been since she first encountered the Director.
Indeed, every person we’ve seen influenced by the Theater Curse and therefore Mind Craft has had a symbol in their eyes: Euphrasie, the cook and the book thief all have a spiral, and Dusk has a star. Even Dawn had a circle in his eye which was present in all their sprites while they were Theater Cursed.
We also know that a person affected by Mind Craft wouldn’t be able to tell thanks to Isa.
Since the Director seems to have some control over the puppets created when fae invaded the House, as seen by the book thief having a very specialized role which wouldn’t fit the usual strains gained from sky pieces, it seems likely that fae cast Mirabelle as a savior and used some Mind Craft to do so. In that case, the Change symbol appearing in Mira’s eyes would be a sign of Mind Craft being active and overwriting what she would have done in a given situation. The Director calling her “my favorite actor” and telling her to “make a good show” makes this conclusion seem even more likely to be true.
Another thing to take into account for all of this, is that Mira believes she is immune to the Blood and Theater Curses because the Director told her so when they first met: we haven’t seen any proof yet that xir was telling the truth at the time.
Tldr: I think that Mira has been influenced by Mind Craft since first meeting the Director, and that the Change symbol appearing in her eyes means that said Craft is active. She also seems to be aware of and change the script in a similar manner to the Director, like when fae removed the date, which is manifested by her having a bad feeling about a room and avoiding it.
