I imagine humans have made many a horror movie based on different species of monster. I’m not very well aware of the horror genre, but I can see that happening. If any movies were to be created, I can see them being inspired by the humans already natural fear of monsters. The horror genre in general seems to be heavily inspired by the audiences fears throughout different countries from what I’ve heard, I don’t see why this would be any different.
This is interesting for both undertale and overtale, with the potential to bias the kids to the monsters underground if they’ve seen these movies, or to influence the humans underground in overtale.
Some of the overtale kids didn’t have as much of a problem with this, humans were still scared of them but not overly scared. Such as Punchy, who is a monster but looks like a dog, cause dogs are generally less scary to most. Citriene and Auburn also would be a bit less scary I think, unless someone’s really scared of bugs, because they are small and look like butterflies.
Meanwhile I feel like Alloy, Lexi and Jamie would have the most people scared of them. Lexi and Jamie are the most monstrous looking of the kids, with extra limbs and eyes. I can see that scaring people very easily. The fear of Alloy probably comes from a mix of the general fear of monsters and the aforementioned movies made to play off of humans fears of certain monsters. They probably associate sentient robots with similar doomsday situations that most people do.
And unlike in undertale where monsters don’t know what humans look like and thus many don’t initially realize frisks a human and not another kind of monster like monster kid, humans cannot have extra eyes or metal skin so I don’t think anyone would assume they could be human.
