Hanzo and Genji GIFs
I'm fairly new to overwatch, and I was wondering... does magic exist in the overwatch universe?? Like, for quite a while, we've only seen sci-fi like technology rather than anything supernatural, but with a character like Kiriko, I don't really see how that can be explained away as science or machines? There's also Hanzo and Genjis dragons, which I also don't think can really be explained by science.
Ok, this is a question even the characters ask.
Mercy had an old voiceline with Zenyatta where she wanted to know how he healed and refused to believe it was magic.
Now as for the whole magic abilities if the Shimadas + Kiriko, the thing is we don't have any concrete answers. It could be magic, it could also be genetic experimentation, or some sort of hard light technology, or a combination of the both, we don't have any confirmation as far as I know.
But to be fair, a lot of the time in both media and real life, magic is just another word for science. The fox and dragon spirits might seem magical to us and the other characters, but there might be a scientific explanation to them. Same with Zenyatta and Ramattra, they might get they're abilities from the Iris, but we don't even know what the Iris is.
Magic could be real in the Overwatch world, or all of it could be an undiscovered scientific discovery/experiment.
