Beau just chuckles his cheeks getting a little red as he shook his head. “Ya know she was my first friend when I moved here? Like honest to god, the first one. I mean I talked kind of funny, real thick Louisiana accent, I’m kind of glad I grew out of for the most part. Some of the other kids kind of teased me about it but not Lemon. If it weren’t for her and Tanner who know what would happened to me.” He runs his finger through his hair with a big smile now. “Ah hell, I’ve got so many memories with that girl. At the orchard, in the treehouse, I mean we did everything together. I love that girl. I mean I guess she’s not a girl anymore. She’s a woman, and an amazing one at that. You know how talented she is? I mean she could pull together a five star wedding in a few weeks if you asked her, she makes peoples dream days come true and you should see how she lights up when something she does comes together or even better when she gets to watch that father daughter dance finally happened after months and months of planning a wedding. She’s all heart and god damn it she deserves the whole damn world and that’s all I want for her. I want her to have everything her heart could ever want in life. Even thought once maybe I could be the one to give it to her. It's funny though how life turns out. Ya just kind of have to let it take you where it will, but I can honestly say I still stand by the fact that I would do anything for that girl, just to see her happy. I mean have you seen her smile?”

Maybe it was for the best, she was always so much more than this little ass town. Figured she marry a doctor or lawyer or wall street banker and live in the big city.” Austin paused looking down at this empty beer, a look of regret. “Shit.”

She’s not.  She’s not an angel, she’s this human being. Lots of feelings. About being short and how annoying all those kids are and how Will went to Auburn like, why’d he do that? Still doesn’t shut up about it. Just everything with her is the most feeling, like I really can’t let her and Peach be around each other without me they’ll— I don’t wanna know. You know. She’s, like, not perfect, you know? But that’s kind of why she is. Because who else would push me off the water tower and still, have that cute little smile she does this thing where she scrunches her nose, you know what I’m saying? I noticed it years ago but last year, she— Nah. No I can’t talk about it, but I just think she’s never gonna see me. I don’t think I’m it for her. It’s just. She’s smart you know she’s got all this love for math and numbers and I am not that. I’m a words guy. Just feels like she’s Aphrodite or somethin’ and I’m Haphaestus and if we ever, I don’t, oh God, I’m not good enough. She would not be down. But, uh, what— what was the question?”
