I didn’t ship them at all, in fact they were a NOTP in the earlier volumes. After that, I became neutral to it but still uninterested. But then, a friend who watched RWBY after I did started shipping them and basically convinced me not only that they could be really wholesome together but also that they may, after all, be canon. And then my shipping of them grew stronger when I fell out of love with Whiterose due to them doing anti-rosegarden fanwank, and the so called woke people of the fandom who turned out to just recycle terf rethoric saying it was “a ship for the straights” and whining incessantly when someone dares to post a fanart of them on their own space without forcing it on anybody. So yeah, spite played a part. XD
