My Thoughts on the Announcement
Oxventure was my introduction to Dungeons and Dragons, as before the Spicy Rat Caper, I found Fifth Edition too unwelcoming and unapproachable. But thankfully I was wrong. Johnny and Oxboxtra proved to me that D&D was fun and even I could play it.
When I found out that Oxventure was ending, my heart sank.
Oxventure has seen me through my dissertation, my first serious long-term relationship, my first job, moving city, the loneliest of a global pandemic, a change of careers, self-isolation, and the heartache and depression of a breakup. I cannot stress how many times Oxventure has brought me comfort over the nearly 7 years of it's existence; Oxventure has quite literally saved my life.
I’m truly sad at the revelation, that the end of the Guild is fast approaching. It’ll be sad to say goodbye to the beloved characters and never being able visit the Realm of G’eth for new adventures. But, I know nothing lasts forever. Stories end and time's arrow moves ever forward.
I'm happy for the community created around Oxventure: the lovely cosplayers at conventions, the theorists on tumblr, and the awesome fanfic writers.
I welcome whatever is coming next from Oxventure. As I know anything from these lovely people will be utterly fantastic.

As is Christmas tradition, today I listened to the Oxventure podcast of the episode where the boss fight consists of them boiling a lobster man alive, taking over the cult he was running with a bunch of fishmen and stealing his underwater church in the name of Cthulu.
