Chat, why are we acting like the sea is nothing but a destructive force? Why are we acting like Poseidon's rule could be based on nothing but fear? Why we acting like river gods and sea gods would be against each other? WHAT THE FUCK?!

Rivers that connect to the sea are super important to the ecosystems, is literally the perfect conditions for estuaries!! Estuaries help with storms and tsunamis, and have some of the highest diversities ever recorded. River-Sea transition zones are also the most important ones when it comes to nurseries for young fish and invertebrates. THE CONNECTION OF INLAND AND SEA WATERS IS IMPORTANT TOO.

THIS IS STUPID, WHY ARE WE MAKING THEM ENEMIES?! IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. AND WHY IS POSEIDON PAINTED AS THE BAD ONE?! WHAT DID MY GOAT DID?! WHY ARE WE PLACING MORALS ON THE LITERAL FUCKING SEA?!

Ok that part of the critique is just the biologist in my veins. I hate when people over-humanize aspects of nature and don't even do it in a way that feels natural or that reflects the true state of the enviorment. It'll make more sense that nereids and naiads are friends from a biological standpoint, but whatever.

reading witcher fanfic and once again I’m missing my girl yennefer 🥲

how is it that even as a multi-shipper I still find myself driven close to madness when witcher fic once again completely omits Yennefer’s importance in the narrative? Even if an author wants to change Geralt/Yennefer from romantic to platonic it should still be an important relationship otherwise you’re starting to mess with the foundations of the characters

Don’t even get me started on the times where she isn’t Ciri’s mom or even involved in her life in some way. It fucking boggles the mind 😤

I feel the same way about Jaskier and Geralt being important relationships in each others lives but it’s just far more rare for authors to exclude that ( I wonder why 😒)

Someone tell me who I pissed off.

I’m coming up on the one year anniversary of losing my dog, Circe, the light of my life, to cancer.

Today I’m told there’s a strong chance I also have cancer. The mystery illness that’s been plaguing me for the last two months possibly has a name.

I still have a few more tests to go through, but what are the odds of hearing this news at this exact time? It’s like the universe heard me begging for her to come back to me and said “best we can do is send you to her.” 😒 (yes, sorry, I’m being dramatic)

I’m not looking for sympathy or anything, I just haven’t told my family or anyone yet, and needed to vent a bit. I don’t want to stress them out any more than I have to. Going to hold off on a full mental spiral until I have a more thorough convo with my doctor, but it’s been a rough day.

On the plus side, I had a soda for the first time in 2 years and it tasted like the ambrosia of the gods. And Physical: Asia is awesome, def rec checking it out if you have Netflix.

Rambling Thought about OC & HR

I've noticed over the last couple of days that outsiders, and of course the media for clickbait, are playing up the age difference between Ella and Belmont. Trying to infantalize Ella because it takes her agency away. She is an actress. She was fully aware what the story entailed. There was an intimacy coordinator on set for the more steamy scenes. She also considers Belmont a dear friend. She is not some child that needs to be protected.

I wonder if the real reason the haters are trying to downplay OC is because it enthusiastically celebrates consent and trust. It also deals with SA, DV, and toxic masculinity within a safe realm of romance. You know there's a happy ending so they can touch on topics like this.

It is the same thing that happened with Heated Rivalry. People dismissing it as p*rn so other people won't watch it. They won't have to look at the story because it is LGBTQ. We've seen plenty of smut on hetero shows. Why does LGBTQ make it any different? It doesn't. As Omni said HR (just like OC ) celebrates the good, the bad, and the steamy parts of love. They don't shy away from any part of it. HR also deals with consent, coming out, and the toxic masculinity of sports. It does with all of this within the safe environment of romance so it is joy instead of tragedy.

Maybe that is what these haters don't like. Toxic masculinity being called out within the confines of a show. Saying that the bare minimum is not enough.
