Marc didn't mind babies. In fact, he was surprisingly good with them. As he was passed the baby girl, he was careful of her head, and he couldn't help smiling a little under his mask as he watched her giggle and wrap her tiny hand around his finger.
There was just one thing that bugged him.
“Whose baby is this?”
"It had these long arms, and it didn't have a face!"
Dick froze, taking in what Tim was telling him. They had dealt with Crane's fear toxin before, but as scary as those encounters were, they usually revolved around a very specific, very personal fear. Creature features weren't the norm. And even if they were, fear toxin wasn't the type of thing to offer anyone any kind of reprieve.
Whatever that thing Tim was talking about was, it wouldn't have let Tim be able to run away from it.
“Where did you see it?”
What would they never do? For Alfred Pennyworth
“Divulge potentially compromising information to a masked stranger.”
“Don’t look at me like that.” - jp-todd-rp
“You're not telling me something, Jason. And whatever that thing is, you should know by now that I am the last person who's going to call you crazy for it.”
“What happened?”
“i have been waiting here over an hour.”
“Yeah, and you didn't have to.” Dick snapped back, rubbing a little at his temple in frustration. His head was killing him today, and the last thing he needed right now was Matt chewing him out. He had forgotten about their plans like he had been forgetting a number of other things. And it wasn't his fault. He had hoped Matt would know that by now, but…
The vigilante sighed as he pressed his palms against his eyes and tried to find his words. He was normally quicker to reply than this, but since being shot, it proved to be a bit harder than usual.
The doctors said it would pass with time, but it sure as hell didn't feel like it would.
Dick hated it…
“I'm sorry, I just... I'm not feeling great today, Matt. It feels like someone is drilling another hole in my skull.”

Be careful of this one, Steven…
If anyone knew how to get him to freeze, it was Khonshu. Steven had stopped to talk to Tim, and he figured it would have been a normal conversation. But no. Of course not. The god in his head just had to intervene and get his blood pressure up already.
This one is not of our world...
Steven pressed his lips, mulling over Khonshu's warning. Mentally running through every possiblity of who or what could actually be standing in front of him. ‘Who the hell is he, then?…’
Steven waited, but there was no reply.
‘Khonshu?…’
…Maybe he was just being paranoid.
Fuck. Had he taken his meds this morning?
The sound of the boy clearing his throat snapped him out of his thoughts, and he gave a nervous laugh.
“Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean to space out on you. How's your family doing?”
''Do you believe in God?'' for Dick
“That's always a fun subject to discuss with strangers.”
“I guess most people would assume no, and I get it, but…Yeah. I believe in God.”
