Empress Amidala with twins
#star wars paintings | SW Paintings
PadMay is an annual event in celebration of our beloved former queen and senator of Naboo, Padmé Naberrie Amidala. There are thirty one prompts, one for each day in the month of May.
You may answer as many, or as few, as you like and there is no specific format. The prompts are jumping-off points and may be considered in universe or meta. Answers may take the form of essay, discussion, fiction, artwork, bulleted lists, gifsets, vids, vlogs, comics, whatever! Create something new, promote something you’ve previously made, or share a favorite work of someone else’s (with proper credit! Share their post if possible). It is also fine to answer prompts on a different day than that which corresponds with the number (if you miss it, or it is simply easier for you). There is no right or wrong way to participate! The purpose of PadMay is to celebrate Star Wars and Padmé, not create work or drama.

Favorite costume from Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Naboo Pilot Disguise
This costume gets very little screen time and is another disguise, but it's my absolute favorite. It's also my pfp 💖
In fact, Attack of the Clones is my favorite Star Wars movie
As Padmé travels to Coruscant, one of her handmaidens, Cordé, steps into the role of Amidala while Padmé is disguised as a Naboo pilot. Shortly after they land, the precaution turns out to be well-founded as an explosion targeting Amidala kills Cordé
Some details of the costume and Padmé's hair
I couldn't find any concept art for this costume, however another reason this costume is my favorite is because Anakin ALSO uses the Naboo pilot uniform as a disguise in the 2008 series The Clone Wars when Padmé goes undercover and Anakin is assigned to protect her
From season 2, Senate Spy-
May the Fourth be with You!
And Happy PadMay! In honor of these two events, I wanted to write a little something featuring our Queen, and process some things in my own life. I used today's Chesterton Challenge prompt from @inklings-challenge, although Star Wars style ;)
On days where the HoloNet was filled with holojournal articles filled with the Clone Wars’ worst atrocities across the galaxy, and it seemed like she barely even had time to enjoy her morning caf before having to don her own form of battle armor, Padme wondered if it was all worth it. If anything she did would ever make a difference in the relentless onslaught of violence they faced each day.
On days where she woke up and the pain in her head was like lightning splitting her brain in two, she wanted to close the blinds and crawl back into bed, she wondered if it was all worth it. She wondered what would happen on the day her body told her no, you absolutely cannot work today, you must rest, and what the meddroids would say.
On days where she wanted to cry and comm her mom and jump on her starship to head home to Naboo, to the safety of her mother’s arms and her niblings’ laughter and her hometown, she wondered if it was all worth it. Her niece didn’t understand what she did, not yet. When she was old enough to, would she still look at her aunt the same way?
And yet she kept working, kept trying, at least. She prayed and did her breathing exercises and listened to calming music. She appreciated each moment with her handmaidens, with Anakin, with her fellow Senators, and tried not to take any of them for granted. She tried to tell each of them how important they all were to her.
Maybe the holojournals would forget about Padme Amidala after she retired. Maybe history would remember her as one voice among many.
She would have to find a way to say it was worth it in the end, that she lived her life according to the hope that love and goodness would endure.
Went to see The Phantom Menace in theaters last night, here are some pics of me in my Padmé cosplay
sort of a casual only-slightly-older padme looking happy for my friend. she requested her chilling in comfy clothes so i put her in one of my old fav shirts i outgrew and a skirt i loved that i changed from black to purple.
