These used to be my paint pants but I reintroduced them into my wardrobe by adding a patch onto the leg. The patch is green denim and says LADY BUG around a jar of 3 lady bugs.

I have a story today
This story doesn’t have lesson, or a life hack, or advice or anything else
Because this story is about pants
I have a favorite pair of pants. They are jeans, to be specific. These jeans aren’t very comfortable. They slip down and ride up in certain places. They are tight on my thighs and leave seam impressions on my stomach. They are the very definition of the words “too tight”. They are itchy and stiff and sometimes they crunch behind my knees. The are worn thin but worn well. And this is my favorite pair of pants.
Why?
Because on these jeans, is paint. Lots and lots of paint. Paint from set pieces. Paint from props. Paint from late night, last minutes cosplay fixes. Paint from everywhere. These are my paint pants. I always wear them when I paint. I can point to every splash of color; every streak, every dot, every stain and hand print, and tell you the story behind it. Each one is different.
It started in high school when I was working as a techie for our school musical. Just an accidental swipe of a paint brush. But now, with every project I complete, I have to finish it off with a dash of color to the paint pants. Like a colorful reminder for myself that says “ remember: you did that”. So many memories behind little specks, or great swipes of hue. How odd.
But these are my paint pants.
And if you ever see me wearing them.
That means I’m probably up to something very creative and colorful
Or maybe I forgot to do laundry
