My sketchbook currently; I don’t know about you but I feel tremendous nostalgia and sadness when flowers start to wilt and lose her liveliness. It’s the moment between life and death. It’s the phase where you know no matter how well you try to keep flowers alive they are going to eventually have to go. And then there is that fleeting beauty that leaves the residue of their path. The prime time beauty turns into something different; old and wilted, faded colors but at the same time frighteningly beautiful in their own terms. I am too emotional to draw and paint fleeting beauty in this phase of my life. I think I will eventually get there to be able to face it and paint it, but for now, I have this urge to paint every time I buy cut flowers to capture their colors and fragrance at their best. So last week I spent a whole lot of time just doing that. How was your week? And how are you doing today?
