When are you going to release the next chapter of Prophecy of Chaos? 🤔
Short answer: When it's ready to be posted
Long answer: Prophecy of Chaos' updates take long, because it's a very lore heavy fic and on top of it all, illustrated. Each chapter is around 5k-6k words and that in of itself takes a long time to complete (plus it's beta read), but each chapter also has three illustrations that almost always have several characters and backgrounds. And since it's a fanfiction by two people, we both need to have time to work on it. Tilli is currently very busy with her thesis and trying to graduate, and I'm also very busy with my uni studies. It's passion project we want to do because we enjoy it, so we don't want to rush it out. We don't want to stress over it. The next chapter has been started, but it'll take some time.
Tilli and I talked about this a while ago in this post. This next part is not aimed at you, it's more of a PSA for everyone because we constantly get people asking about updates (No joke, the last time was yesterday). And it feels incredibly stressful and pressuring. I am genuinely flattered and happy that people enjoy the fic and want to see more, and I want to believe most people mean no harm with their questions. But if I'm being honest, one of the reasons why it has been hard for me to write Prophecy of Chaos lately is the pressure. I've been getting very stressed trying to write it, and every time I get another "I want an update" comment, it makes it even harder. Tilli is very uncomfortable with those questions as well. I've even gotten comments of people thinking I've abandoned my fics, but I haven't. If I did, I would announce it and change the fic title. But I'm too much of a perfectionist to abandon a story.
But I really want to emphasize that fanfiction is a hobby. I write because it makes me happy, so I write when it feels right for me. Writers are human beings with feelings. I've been in fandoms for several years, and I feel like readers have become more impatient these last few years. Fanfiction and art often gets reduced to "content" that people want to "consume", instead of art that you're supposed to think about and analyze. I've also heard from my fellow writers that people comment less nowadays, and that's very unmotivating. And as a writer I can assure that nice comments on fics are a better way to get new chapters out faster than asking about updates. Like seriously, I was able to finish the newest chapter of DNA Collision because a mutual said how much they love that fic. Like just that made me write most of it.
I don't want to sound rude or unappreciative, because it genuinely means a lot to me that people like my fics and want updates. Trust me, I want to update them too. I want to get my stories out, I want to share them. But I've gotten, no exaggeration, several demanding comments and even DMs about updates on several different platforms. It really hurts me, it often makes me feel want to cry. Part of me has even considered deleting some of my fics, but I can't do that, because they mean so much to me.
So please. Be patient with me. I haven't forgotten about them, I haven't abandoned them, and the update will come in due time. I'm very excited about all the upcoming storylines ^^
love your chivalrous devotion AU and I love how u write lamorak (what a silly guy) so I made a attempt of what I was thinking of when I was reading the 4th chapter. This would be hilarious if this dumb joke actually happens. Anyways love your fic!

I can't write an alternative ending to the actual ending since that would be SPOILERS but here's an alternate ending to chapter one- I wrote this in like 15 minutes and it's not beta read but I had fun HFLKHFSKLH
It was a… Portal? At least it looked like one. Just at the bottom of the hill, there was a purplish blue, swirling vortex floating in the air. The inside of it resembled a tunnel, but it was unclear where it could even lead to. Several specks that reminded him of stars were swirling around at the entrance. But when he tried to look inside it, it was only filled with bright, blinding light. He circled around the portal, keeping some distance just in case. The other side didn’t make it any clearer where it led to, nor where it had even come from. Sonic huffed and reached to his quills, pulling out his communication device and calling Tails. “What is it? Did Shadow cancel?” Tails asked as he picked up. “Nope! I’m still on my way. I just came across this weird portal thingy, and I think ya should come and check it out,” Sonic explained. “A portal? Where?” Tails replied, sounding surprised. “You know that park close to the city?” Sonic asked, imagining Tails nodding despite not seeing him. “It’s right next to that big hill. Should I step inside?” “NO!” Tails screamed. “Sonic, whatever you do, do NOT touch it! Wormholes are impossible to escape from!” Sonic rolled his eyes. “Alright, alright, I won’t. But we gotta do something about this, I think Egghead’s planning something!” “Definitely, seems pretty serious. I’ll go get Amy and we’ll be on our way,” Tails agreed. Sonic grinned. “I’ll be waiting right here for you guys!” “Don’t you have that date with Shadow?” Tails asked with a hint of both teasing and annoyance in his tone. “Hey, I can’t just leave this big old wormhole here!” “Yes, you can, Amy and I can handle it! Just go on that date, Sonic. Shadow’s not gonna be happy if you just leave him waiting. You know how he is.” “Well, true. But we’ll both come help if it starts getting too serious,” Sonic huffed. “Good luck, buddy!” “You too,” Tails said before hanging up. Sonic glanced at the portal one more time, before dashing away. He ran through the park, finally spotting Shadow in the distance. He sat on a picnic blanket with his arms crossed and gave Sonic an angry glare when he got closer. “I told you not to be late,” he grunted. “I’m not that late, am I?” Sonic shrugged. “You are seven minutes late. That’s a lot for someone who insists they’re the fastest thing alive.” “Whoops,” Sonic chuckled and sat down on the blanket. “I got distracted by a portal. Probably Eggman’s plan or something.” Shadow narrowed his eyes. “The Doctor is here?” “Didn’t see him. But Amy and Tails are gonna handle it,” Sonic hummed as he grabbed a sandwich from Shadow’s picnic basket. “They’ll call us if they need backup.” Shadow nodded, picking up a sandwich for himself as well. “Knowing you, I’m surprised you didn’t stick your nose inside the portal,” Shadow said. Sonic laughed. “I know, buddy. I know.”

The characters do affect the story and vice versa, but I personally feel like it's easier to first build the world, then the story, and then put the characters in their roles! Especially if it's an AU, such as Prophecy of Chaos or Chivalrous Devotion.
Q: How do you feel about collaborations?
I LOVE collabs!! I wanna do more of them :3 I like collabs where someone else illustrates my writing. I do also like bigger collabs, like making AUs together. Prophecy of Chaos is a collaboration between me and @tillytilli after all! But I feel like I can only do big collabs like that with close friends, since those are a lot of work and I'm VERY timid XD
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
Hurt/comfort is always so good, I can never get enough. And angst. I also love historical AUs and medieval fantasy AUs. Also anything to do with monsters is so good. Teehee.

I really liked this part of Impactful Skip. The single lined paragraph of "And again" really helped set in the feeling of despair to me, how Sonic is just...trapped there, it just really stuck with me :3

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
From fanfiction writers I'd say TrenchcoatGecko on AO3, mostly because their fics were the first Sonic fics I read and they gave me motivation to start writing fanfiction again! I hadn't written anything in years because I was so self-conscious, but the fic But Next Time, On My Terms especially had a huge impact on me dskghsglhdsl. I also love myymi's fics!
My other influences are probably the authors I read the most as a child. First ones that come to mind are Sinikka and Tiina Nopola, Timo Parvela, and Jacqueline Wilson. Obviously also the authors and kind of books I read as an adult have an impact, but I feel like the ones you read as a child are the most influential. I also wanna say that A Series of Unfortunate Events and the video game The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon have affected the way I plan and write my stories. I enjoy melancholy-
