پارساؤں نے بڑے ظرف کا اظہار کیا

ہم سے پی اور ہمیں رسوا سر بازار کیا

درد کی دھوپ میں صحرا کی طرح ساتھ رہے

شام آئی تو لپٹ کر ہمیں دیوار کیا

رات پھولوں کی نمائش میں وہ خوش جسم سے لوگ

آپ تو خواب ہوئے اور ہمیں بیدار کیا

کچھ وہ آنکھوں کو لگے سنگ پہ سبزے کی طرح

کچھ سرابوں نے ہمیں تشنۂ دیدار کیا

تم تو ریشم تھے چٹانوں کی نگہ داری میں

کس ہوا نے تمہیں پا بستۂ یلغار کیا

ہم برے کیا تھے کہ اک صدق کو سمجھے تھے سپر

وہ بھی اچھے تھے کہ بس یار کہا وار کیا

سنگساری میں تو وہ ہاتھ بھی اٹھا تھا عطاؔ

جس نے معصوم کہا جس نے گنہ گار کیا

برس گیا بہ خراباتِ آرزُو، تِرا غم

قدح قدح تِری یادیں سبُو سبُو، تِرا غم

تِرے خیال کے پہلو سے اُٹھ کے جب دیکھا

مہک رہا تھا زمانے میں کُو بہ کُو، تِرا غم

غبارِ رنگ میں رس ڈھونڈتی کرن تِری دھن

گرفتِ سنگ میں بل کھاتی آب جُو، تِرا غم

ندی پہ چاند کا پر تو تِرا نشان قدم

خطِ سحر پہ اندھیروں کا رقص، تُو، تِرا غم

ہے جس کی رو میں شگوفے، وہ فصل، تیرا دھیان

ہے جس کے لمس میں ٹھنڈک، وہ گرم لُو، تِرا غم

نخیلِ زیست کی چھاﺅں میں نے بہ لب تِری یاد

فصیلِ دل کے کلس پر ستارہ جُو، ترا غم

طلوعِ مہر، شُگفتِ سحر، سیاہیِ شب

تری طلب، تُجھے پانے کی آرزُو، تِرا غم

نگہ اُٹھی تو زمانے کے سامنے، تِرا روپ

پلک جُھکی تو مِرے دل کے رُو بہ رُو، تِرا غم
