After the Battle of Hoover Dam, Boone parts ways with the Courier to hunt down any stray Legionnaires and personally makes sure that the Legion is snuffed out for good.

Mr. House secretly wanted the Courier to succeed him. Over two hundred years of living and commanding New Vegas had exhausted him, and the Courier had the potential to carry out his dreams. It was time.

After Danse is kicked out of the BOS, he feels so discarded and worthless that he swallows his pride and asks Nick for help. Nick is very gentle in telling him that that lost, purposeless feeling never really goes away- but being surrounded by people who love and value him makes it smaller. Once Danse sees that he and Nick aren't all that different, the hostility between them disappears.

Everyone panics when Nick gets caught in the rain. Curie drapes her lab coat over his head, Danse in his power armor shields his head by using his giant metal hands as an umbrella, even Dogmeat tries to nudge him toward shelter. Nick doesn't tell them he's still mostly weather proof because he's stunned that so many people care enough to worry about him.

Preston ends up teaching at the school in Sanctuary. He handles most of the subjects (history, especially) but the companions will take turns to fill in the gaps. Curie gives science lessons, Cait teaches hand-to-hand combat, Piper gives excellent English lessons, etc.

Strong, however, actually manages the preschool on his own (with a little help from Shaun). He teaches the very young children basic skills like teamwork and sharing, and turns out to be amazing with children in general since he can relate to them more easily.

He doesn't look like it, but Deacon is surprisingly strong. Running all over the Commonwealth for the Railroad keeps him in ridiculous shape. He's really only outpaced by Sole, whose "gotta find my son" travels did the same to them.
