Super late review on the @mysticmusebox July Alchemy Box featuring my baby girl Astoria cause I'm trash. Buckle up it's gonna be a long ride✨ . To start off they made a few changes to the box. Not only are there two box types at different price points, in the pamphlet it now states the worth of the product as well as whether or not it's a box exclusive, and that's awesome. The first item I saw and promptly lost my shit at was the #mysticmuse Alchemy Patch, it's well made AND AWESOME (if this is going to be a running trend between pins and patches imma die). Next is the @goodnightdarlingco Deep Detox Bath Soak, it's Pink Himalayan salt, rose petals, eucalyptus, and lavender. I'm bot ready to tussle with the lavender in it but it smells DIVINE (allergies suck yo). The most used product by far since I got this box is the @lovebyluna.co Energize + Citrine Gem Juice. It is literally the best smelling thing I own it smells exactly like fresh cut oranges. I put it on before work everyday. Next is another box exclusive, the lovely amethyst point, first amethyst in my bunch and I love it. The @palmettoderma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask is literally the most luxurious thing I own (it is a purifying clay mask and has a nice coolness to it) highly recommend drinking it with a glass of wine or champagne it adds to the affect. Another Mystic Muse box exclusive is the bundle of California Blue Sage, I really like that this was included it is a very useful tool (also on one of their posts they mentioned they did this type because white sage is endangered and I was like YES BRING ABOUT THAT AWARENESS). And lastly, this lovely Diffuser Bracelet from @designsbykatieleigh is so sweet. My issue with bracelets is usually they're too heavy or bulky, and this is so lightweight and carries oils for a long time. Welcome Spring with a New Beauty Routine

In the past few weeks, I have officially transitioned to my spring/summer beauty routine even though the weather here in Jersey is a little bit slow to transition with me. I do this thing where I convince myself is I dress in cute sundresses or fill my house with fresh flowers, the season gods will be inspired to change the bleak looking weather forecast for the rest of the week. It makes for colds legs some days, but cute outfits nonetheless ha. As for my skin, jumping the gun for the season change really doesn’t hurt, it actually helps!

By the end of a few cold and sunless months, my skin is eager for a breath of fresh air between the loads of makeup I use to cover my ghostly complexion and the never ending dryness. Spring is kind of that in-between time right before those summer makeup free, sun kissed natural days. It works perfectly because a lot of the spring makeup trends are really natural and airy. By transition, I mean with the right minimal products and makeup, I try to get the best of both worlds.

1.      FACE CLEANSER/MAKEUP REMOVER. I use the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser every morning and most nights. I love this product because it is so gentle and light compared to other moisturizing products that I have used and doesn’t make my face oily at all. It also doubles as a makeup remover, which is perfect for using minimal products, especially ones that tend to dry out your face.

2.      TONER. I use toner right after the cleanser and throughout the day. My favorite is Palmetto Derma’s Get Glowing Rose Refreshing Toner. Not only does it make you LOOK fresh by giving you a natural glowing color but it also makes you FEEL fresh and put the pep you need in your step.

3.      PRIMER. The primer that I use is very similar to toner but I like to use it on top because it gives a smoother and even texture that doesn’t come as naturally as the color with toner. The Glossier Priming Moisturizer keeps it looking natural, just gives you an easier surface to put makeup on or a smoother surface to go without makeup.

4.      CONCEALER/UNDEREYE CREAM. Even with a more natural look, I usually put on a little bit of concealer and under eye cream to hide some imperfections that are more noticeable with pale skin from the winter. I’ve used Elf Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter for a while now and it is my go to product for the little things. I mostly focus on my under eyes because I have a terrible of sleepy sick eyes that I hate, and then usually use the concealer (the double sided brush is just so convenient) on a couple of pimples or marks on my face that pop up here or there. I have heard mixed reviews on this product from friends, but for me, used minimally and conservatively, it has worked successfully without irritation for months of everyday use.

5.      MASACARA. Mascara is my favorite makeup ever. If nothing else, I will always without a doubt add some mascara to my eyes if I can get my hands on it. I especially love it for spring because I like to go without face makeup to let my face get color in the first peaks of sunshine to prepare for summer and mascara really brings the pop a bare face sometimes needs. Personally, my eyelashes are long but straight so curling them and adding mascara brings out what I think is one of my favorite natural features.

6.      LIPSTICK. I am fairly new to this trend, but I am loving every second of it. As my collection slowly grows, my favorite colors are the springy matte pinks and reds that match the roses and tulips growing outside. They instantly and easily brighten up your face and go really well with the natural look since most people’s lips are relatively those colors normally.

If you haven’t noticed yet, there is a clear theme of roses here haha. All of my face products smell like roses and the colors match too. This is really an added bonus but I think it makes them even more perfect for spring. Spring=Fresh Skin=A new woman!!

Boxycharm October Unboxing 2015

Hello everyone! You know what time it is?? Time for a Boxycharm unboxing! Yes, yes, this is my favorite box. It’s always got the best value, you pay $21 including shipping and you always get over $100 worth of prouducts. All full size high end things for you to try! I’ve found so many favorites in these boxes and can’t wait to get to this one! 

This months theme is “Faces of the moon” which has been my favorite theme so far! Let’s get into the products. 

First item that I saw in the spoilers and grabbed right away was the Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask. This bad boy is expensive as hell so i’ve got high hopes for it! It says it clenses pores by absorbing impurities and has a cooling effect that soothes the skin. Sounds good to me, i’ll try this out in the next couple of days!

Next thing I saw was this little tub. It’s the Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain. I’ve never been a huge fan of cheek and lip stains, but then again i’ve never tried a cream one, only liquids. This might be okay. The color looks wearable also. I’ll let you know if I like it!

Next we got an eyeliner! I’ve actually been hoping to get one soon because my current eyeliner is on it’s last leg. This is the Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner in Black. It’s pencil liner so we’ll see if it’s too hard for me to use, but I remember getting another Lord & Berry product in an ipsy bag I think, it was a lip liner and I didn’t really care for the color, but I remember the formula was awesome so hopefully that holds true for this pencil as well! 

To pair with the eyeliner (i’m assuming) they also gave us a mascara. This is the Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara. I swear, October must be the month of mascaras because I got at least 5. Not going to complain though, i’m just not going to have to buy mascara for at least a year now which is great! I’m thinking about saving this one and not opening it because apparently they start to dry out as soon as you open them, and I don’t really want to waste them all. 

Last thing in the box, and arguably the thing I was most excited about, is a nail polish!! This one is by Cult Cosmetics and it’s in the shade “Boneyard”. Perfect for halloween obviously. I absolutely love it when I get nail polish in my boxes, maybe just because i’m on a nail polish kick right now, but I love this dark grey color. I actually just got a grey in my last julep box, which is kind of a bummer because now I have two, but I did swatch this and it is noticeably different than the julep one so i’m going to keep them both for the moment. 

So that was everything in my Boxycharm this month! This month was definitely not a disappointment ( and it never is! ) Let’s see what the value of this box is shall we?
