My First Stitch Fix Unboxing!!!
Okay guys, time for a brand new one! Stitch Fix. For those of you who don’t know what Stitch Fix is, it’s like having your own personal shopper/stylist. You fill out a very detailed style profile online with your sizes and likes and dislikes, you can even attach your Pinterest board on there if you have a clothes one like I do, They look at all that and pick out 5 things that they think you would really love. You also get to leave them notes to request certain items and if you don’t like something, you're supposed to give very detailed feedback so that they can get it right next time! Here is my first Stitch Fix, *spoiler alert* I only ended up keeping one thing because the sizing was off on most of it, but i’m thinking that might be my fault because i’m the one that put those sizes in my profile.
The Cost: Stitch Fix you can order as often as you want, or not very often at all. They charge a $20 styling fee but that gets applied towards anything that you want to keep in the box, so theoretically you’d want to purchase at least one thing if you didn’t want to lose your $20. The pricing on the clothes vary of course, normally it’s pretty expensive stuff if you ask me, but then again you are getting really high quality things and you pay for the convenience of not having to brave the mall, which to me is sometimes worth it. You can also customize in your profile how much money you’d be willing to spend on certain things, more for jeans, less for shirts, things like that. One last thing about pricing, if you love everything in your box you actually get 25% off the entire box (which is pretty great) so keep that in mind, even if there is one thing that you’re on the fence about, it might actually be cheaper to just keep it all. If you want to try it out PLEASE use my referral link because it’s a great thing, not only do I get $25 credit for referring people, but you also get $25 just for using someones link! that’s free money!

Sorry for the long intro but there is kind of a lot to this and I wanted to explain it thoroughly before I just dive in. Below i’ll include the note that my stylist put in my box, as well as pictures of me trying on the clothes (you're welcome -.-) and the prices for all of the things.
This is what the box looks like when you open it up! Everything is wrapped up so cute!
The note I left to Stitch Fix said that I really wanted a great pair of jeans, dark wash that were more straight legs and a little distressing. I also told them that I was going on a caribbean cruise in January and was looking for a cute cocktail dress to wear for formal night. Here is the note my stylist left for me in my box!
- Hi Whitney, Welcome to Stitch Fix, I’m excited I get to be your first stylist! Thanks for your notes and including you Pinterest board, the more feedback you give us like the fit and what you liked or didn't like about a piece the better we get to know you and get you get the best Fix possible. The Just Black jeans are made in the USA and have a small amount of distressing, you can also add a cuff and pair a cute ankle boot with these jeans. I saw you had a couple really great burgundy sweaters pinned so I wanted to send the Pixley sweater, pair with the jeans for a cozy and comfortable look. The Market & Spruce sweater is another great option to pair with the jeans. That’s exciting a cruise, the Papermoon dress would be a fun look to wear to dinner. Happy Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to hear how everything works. Cheers, Brooke. :) -
( I think the notes are really awesome and show that they actually do pay attention to your notes and Pinterest board which makes paying the price for these items just a little more bearable. )
First thing I pulled out was this very pretty bracelet. It’s called the “Zad Anneli Hammered Interlock Cuff”. Looks pretty high quality to me, and it’s very dainty and simple which is exactly my style. This is the item I ended up keeping even though it’s $34 (yikes I know), it was either pay for the bracelet or pay $20 styling fee for nothing. I really will wear this a lot though and get good use out of it.
Second thing in the box, is this dress. This is the “Papermoon Shelia Dress” and I really really love the fit, it’s perfect and just the style I was looking for, I just wasn't at all a fan of the print on the bottom half of the dress, and since these things are so expensive, my rule is going to be, I don’t keep it unless I absolutely love it. This dress was $88 to keep and I might have considered paying that if I loved the print but I don’t. This one is going back.
Next in the box was this “Pixley Faria Split Back Pullover Sweater”. I love the color on this sweater, and it’s unique because the back is split open, which would be cute but this sweater was pretty big on me, again I think it’s my fault because I’m the one who put my sizes in there, I guess I was afraid of getting things that were too small. I would have considered keeping this if it fit cute and looked flattering but this one is going back as well and it would have cost me $68 to keep.
Next thing was the “Market & Spruce Dari Cowl Neck Pullover Sweater”. This was an interesting one, again I didn’t really hate it, instantly I thought I would because I’m not a huge fan of turtle necks, but this one is so loose I really didn't mind it, and it was dark navy which was good, but it was again a little too big, and just not very flattering on so that one is going back as well. This one was also $68 to keep.
Last thing in the box were the jeans I asked for! “Just Black Rogers Distressed Boyfriend Jeans”. Let me tell you guys, I really really love these jeans. They are exactly what I asked for, dark wash, straight legs, not too distressed but not boring either. I was so bummed though when I tried them on because they were also a size too big :( I’m going to ask my stylist to try to include these exact same one just a size smaller in my next fix though so that I can still get them. The jeans I believe were $88 (which I know is kind of an insane amount to spend on one item of clothing) but I think they would be worth it, they were really high quality and if I love them that much then i’m not going to regret it.
So that was everything in my box, I’m going to be returning everything except the bracelet ( free returns by the way, comes with a prepaid bag and you just stick it in the mailbox at the post office. ) If I would have liked everything and kept it all, it would have cost me $267 with the discount. I don’t really see myself ever loving every single thing that comes in the box, but you never know. Maybe my stylist will really get to know me and pick out awesome stuff every time! I’m going to order one more box for the winter season since I didn’t end up keeping any clothes from this one, and then i’ll probably wait until spring to start up again.
Again if you’d like to give Stitch Fix a try, please use my link here and get yourself and extra $25 to spend on your box!
