Karen Chasitys maiden name is Foster. She had kids at a young age and so did Pamela. But Karen was married (or got married shortly after)

She resents Pamela, not for being an awful parent, but for having a child out of wedlock and bringing it up as a single mother, and for abandoning religion.

Pamela hates Karen because she left, she got a nice house in pinebrook and turned up her nose to her old life, before she married.

They’ve passed this rivalry onto Grace and Lex.

Hatchetfield Ancestry Headcanons

This is based off surname entomology both for characters and for their actors because I’m a nerd.

- The Woodward’s are German and Irish with Alice having Haitian ancestry from Bill.

- Mary’s (Abstinence Camp) grandparents were assimilated Jews who converted to Christianity because they were living in a small American town in the 1960s.

- Duke and Bailey are paternal cousins and have Scottish, Irish and English ancestry ("Douglas" is Scottish and "Keane" is Irish, "Bailey" is English and Scottish).

- Jeri is the daughter of second-generation Irish immigrants and her Irish accent sometimes slips out. She also has some German ancestry due to being related to the Metzger’s on her father’s side.

- Ruth is Jewish like her actress. She has a Jewish dad and a gentile mom (reverse of Lopez’s parents).

- Paul would be a WASP if it wasn’t for him being raised Catholic (his parents have Irish ancestry). He didn’t really care much about religion as a kid and he’s agnostic as an adult.

- Brenda’s ancestry is primarily Haitian and French which she gets from both her parents. She’s learning Haitian-Creole from her grandmother.

- Max’s family are third-generation German immigrants.

- I imagine that the Fosters’ have German ancestry from Willabella because “Muck” is German. They also have English ancestry.

- While the Chasity’s feel very WASPy, I see Karen having Irish ancestry (based on her actress having an Irish surname).

- Richie is Ashkenazi Jewish. His ancestry is primarily German because “Lipschitz” is German-Jewish, though he also has some Polish ancestry.

- The Metzger’s are Irish and German with Ashkenazic Jewish ancestry because “Metzger” is a German-Yiddish surname.

- Hidgens has Irish ancestry. The reasoning behind this is his surname being of Irish origin, which was also the case with his first actor. Also it makes his Anglophobia funnier. He also has some German ancestry.

- Stephanie has Greek ancestry on her mother’s side.

- Charlotte’s family is Irish-American. She was raised Methodist but has Catholic relatives, so she has Catholic guilt by proxy.

- Linda has Scottish and English ancestry because name "Murray" is Scottish and I cannot see her as anything other than a WASP.
